Cadence, Shining Armor and Celestia. The majority of this season’s screentime on the Cutie Mark Crusaders and the Apple Family should be GREATLY DECREASED in favor of the three I mentioned.

Well, it was nice to finally see Celestia for the first time in Season 5 with Luna making her Season 5 debut three episodes earlier to finish off the Crusaders and their nightmares.
Also, not much anyone could do to try and help Celestia. With the Smooze trapping everyone in that ocean of slime, no one could even get to Celestia to clean her horn off and restore access to her Alicorn magic. Besides, Twilight showed that Alicorn magic has no effect on the Smooze. Celestia only got cleaned off when Tree Hugger used her hippie knowledge to calm the Smooze down and get him to reform physically, recalling the slime and cleaning everyone up in the process. Even then Celestia only tried to defend the other Gala guests as the Smooze advanced on them until Discord intervened and took back all the jewelry and gold that caused the Smooze to grow in the first place, restoring him to normal, and ending the rampage.
So like I said, nice to see Celestia for the first time in Season 5, especially with her first appearance being in formal attire since Magical Mystery Cure, but she is already getting Worfed again with what happened with the Smooze.
Well, I’ve still seen some badass pics of Twilight and Celestia using their magic impressively.

When Celestia tries: Smooze slime covers the tip of her horn, blocking her magic so all she can do is blow bubbles in the slime instead trying to get her magic out.
How humiliating for the Princesses of the Sun and Friendship…

The Rainbow of Light was unable to affect the G1 smooze. It took Flutterpony magic to fend it off.

They aren’t even superior with it, if you haven’t noticed.
Unicorns can’t be “superior” without their magic.
