True, especially since he ship Pony Flash and not human Flash with Twilight. He might think that Pony Flash is an interesting character because we know nothing about him so he may just enjoy this ship when he add some headcanons to it.  
I would personally just create an original character for that purpose since Equestria Girls left me with bitter taste when seeing Flash but as i said - Pony Flash is not Brad nor he need to have the same personality as him. He surely don’t play guitar and he already graduated to have a full time job.

Let’s be honest. People dislike one of the characters more than shipping itself. It’s like making a fan art of Hitler with ponies. There will be a bias toward it because there are more groups that dislike it  
A) The standard rival shipping groups (Twilestia for example) and waifu fans  
B) Additonal people neutral to shipping who dislike Flash in EQG movies like Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar (because stereotype dull jock)  
C) Storyline and development fans who can’t believe that this is canon and Twilight actually fall for this guy and not some powerfull wizard or intelligent scientist. It’s like witnessing Fluttershy being cruel to animals.
 
So basically most shippings have only A) group haters. This one is one of a kind.

I don’t see how it’s fair to criticize Pia-Sama or dm29 for drawing copious amounts of Sparity/Flashlight, only to turn around and praise WhiteDiamonds for drawing nothing but Rarijack day in and day out.

Pia-sama gets some of the same flak, I’d say, since she’s even more for Sparity than Julian for Flashlight.
 
Still, I’d have to say there’s some bias when a shipping blog legitimately makes a shipping image each day (Rarijack daily) and is praised wildly for it.

More butthurt and grousing in the comment section I see. “Oh, dm29 is the only one to ship them unironically, I wish he’d stop bombarding us with so much Flashlight, he should draws something else for once!” Complaints leveled at just about no other artist who likes any other ship.

NOT QUITE. Pony Flash is my own interpretation and the way I would like to have him as. I do NOT take Flash as my own OC.

I for one am totally okay with dm29 drawing Flashlight, and am okay with that ship in general.
