Can we just take a moment to appreciate what a great person Spike is? Any other character pulls a hissy fit. Spike, HELPS Rarity get the guy he hates. His reward from the fandom? Oh Spike’s such a horrible character nyah nyah!

and its joint things yes he saved the empire because Twilight knocked it away towards him but was unable to figure out a way to get the heart to Cadence in time so he became the savior because of Her TELLING him adamantly to get it to her he didn’t even want to because of her test. And he fought off his own greed because of seeing the gemstone he gave to Rarity and remembering how happy it made her when he gave it to her. Its not just himself he gets better cause of his life and who he is with. Thats not to say he has his own faults considering one minute he’s zooming off to stay by Twilights side then he’s flat out telling her “you don’t look so good” after she had to clean up the mess HE made with giving Rarity that spell book. Plus he let his stage fright and his mistakes get to him so much that even when he saved the Equestria games he still couldn’t see passed his mistake to focus on the new truly wonderful thing he accomplished. Thus again yes he has come a great many ways but its through his life with Twilight and the growing life he’s having with his new family with Twilight that he’s gotten and getting so better. His devotion to Twilight is where his character really shines and his love for Rarity is quite cute but its not so over clouded now that he will get jealous or raise a fit if she gushes over some other pony or bawls over losing them, and like in Rarity Takes Manehatten will get a tad irritated with her making her his pack Dragon. So again exposure and watching his caretaker and friends lives helps him to learn himself as well as when he makes his own mistakes like in Owls well that ends well like has been said twice now. He has learned fully now that one you should never get jealous or do bad things to or worst of all for your friends. And that you should always speak up especially when you think trouble is brewing over your friends lives because it shows you care. And finally to not let past hiccups get in the way of your future because then that future has plenty of room to give you more chances to shine all the brighter with things you DID do right

Both Sparity and FlutterCord are healthy for Spike and Discord. Fluttershy act as a bait for Discord to improve himself and become good and reformed. Rarity is Spike motivation to become braver and manlier and he is becoming wiser in the process (like in this picture)

May I ask a question? Why do people who believe Rarity abuses Spike want to ship her with him? Is this some sort of, “It’s okay, I can change her,” sort of thing? If their relationship was one-sided and unhealthy before they hook-up, it will be one-sided and unhealthy after they hook up, except now Spike is trapped in it.

How long was he in his egg for? That has me wondering for the longest of times. Cause it might’ve played a roll as to why he’s so much more mature then. Well, everyone. Add to the fact that Faust herself said that spike was raised by celestia and celestia being well over thousands of years old, she gave spike guidance on what to do in life, it’s only starting to show in these resent episodes. That’s what I like to believe anyways :)

Spike didn’t feel threatened by the guy.

Spike lacks the overweening sense of entitlement that the other two have. And Rarity is a lot more like Discord than either of them want to admit.

Is because he learned his lesson in “Owl’s Well That Ends Well”

That’s why he is still a kid.

This is why I like Spike. He’s shown he truly cared for Rarity. He could have thrown a tantrum, cried, felt angry that Rarity even loved someone else (he did show some disgust, but that was mainly due to her pressing the issue). But he didn’t. He did what would make her happy, because her happiness is more important than his.  
You know what that’s called? THAT’S CALLED FREAKING LOVE!

See this is why I like spike. His character is instresting and so well rounded that he puts the other or all of the characters to shame. Hell, he saved a kingdom and he basked in the admiration of those that he saved and didn’t let the greed take over him like it did on his birthday

Such is the power of selective script writing.
