She is, lord knows how long until GS is on it’s feet…paws again, but hey that’s one of the things I loved about this episode; Pinkie and Rainbow didn’t fix all the problems and made Griffonstone better again, just helped someone lay the ground work for GS to recover and maybe even grow.
Wow I really like your review of the episode.
After watching it the first time and seeing how hard Rainbow Dash worked to get the Griffons their treasure back, I was really hoping that Dashie could get their treasure back for them.
But after reading your post, that treasure did nothing good for their Kingdom!
I wonder if Gilda will spread the values of friendship in the griffon Kingdom?
@FloydPinkerton
I love how the entire episode also works as giant metaphor for pride and arrogance.
Griffonstone wasn’t built on the unity of their race like Equestria or under a common ideal or laws, it was built on pride. It is just as Grandpa Gruff said “it gave us an identity” and “the envy of all other species”; their unity was based on pure pride and a bit of arrogance (envy line) so when Arimaspi stole that symbol it all came crashing down since they didn’t built their empire on anything else.
In Arimaspi’s case after stealing such an idol of pride he immediately feel and died with it.
Rainbow Dash couldn’t let go of her’s and ended up prejudging the griffons and tried to solve the problem a quickly as possible which lead to nearly being in Arimaspi’s position.
Gilda couldn’t let go of hers which lead to her losing an old friend.
Yeah, that was my favorite part of the episode. Most of the folklore in Friendship Is Magic is just the standard pop culture stuff, so I was surprised by the reference to the one-eyed people of Arimaspi.
AssasinMonkey began to draw this something like 4 hours after the episode was aired.
But yeah, considering that this has been published something like 13-14 hours after the episode, it shouldn’t be considered “fast” (although the artist has been quite fast, considering the quality of the picture).
Yep, you can always bet on him.
@cheezedoodle
He was quite pleased, because all the informations about griffons given in the episode are aligned with his ancient griffon universe.
I’ve been waiting for a pic like this.
I think we still need more Gudo, Arimaspi, Grover, basically all the new characters plus more Gilda.
