They’ve basically started a Bert and Ernie scenario for MLP.
The cynic in me has to wonder what fanfiction writer they’re paying for this, though.
I was thinking they just kind of tolerate each other at the beginning and by the end they become good friends but I haven’t watched the preview so I have no idea.
What about the Opposites attract saying?

They are probably going to be portrayed as very disliking of each other or just very eccentric.
I betcha they had this house since Season 1, before Discord.

If you think you’re angry at this, then why not ask the guys who had to build this.
Maybe you should let people ship things and not childishly insult them. Shipping has been and is going to be around for a while, in this fandom and others. People are allowed to interpret a scene however they like. It doesn’t hurt you or affect you in any way, so leave people alone.
If I were to hazard a guess, I would say it has something to do with voice acting unions.
After all, If the crown Prince of Jordan couldn’t get a one line speaking role in Star Trek Voyager due to acting unions, I would think that voice acting unions would object to a fan being pulled in as a voice actor.

Unfortunately yes. And in some cases making them siblings makes the shipping worse. Just look at the fanfics written for Frozen and Big Hero 6. Its so bad I have to filter out one of the siblings if I don’t want to see any incest shipping. And even that isn’t a guaranteed course of action.
