As has been said plenty of times already, surely that is the case - it’s the wrong decade for two female characters to be unambiguously portrayed as being in a relationship in a kid’s show - but the powers that be deliberately chose this moment and not one clearly platonic, or even one where they weren’t interacting with each other at all, or used different characters altogether, when making this promotion.
That and any number of past questionable moments with those two suggest that they know exactly what they’re doing, and making nods on purpose.
And it is awesome.
Most of us have. Those here who don’t think that are devil worshippers.
Oh, I can’t wait for it to happen.
It will be like “I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of headcanons suddenly cried out in desperation and were suddenly destroyed” or something like that.
When it comes to this absurd shipping-mania I feel like being cruel.

Oh, I know that there isn’t an enormous chance of it getting confirmed, I’m just saying that the screencap isn’t an accident.
The 48% of the fandom ships Lyra and Bon^2. And the 35% ships Vinyl and Octavia. But this fandom… But this fandom ships everypony with everypony. Lesbian shippings are in a very high rate. This percent of the fandom miss the message of the show. It’s about the friendship for little girls…
I think at least one ‘couple’ will be sisters if they get screen time. Octavia and Vinyl I guess… The Bon Bon and Lyra thing remains open, but on the screen they are friends.

Yeah, it’s not like there’s ever been any time when a creator deliberately put in an image of a couple getting intimate in a teaser specifically to troll shippers.
That’s never happened at all.
Oh, any rational person knows that they’re not gonna go anywhere with this. Any rational person also knows this is a deliberate tease. These people aren’t naive, they know what they’re doing.
The thing is, this isn’t just some screencap a fan took from a promo; this is an official image that was put out as a press release. Somebody at Hasbro deliberately selected an image that looks like they’re making bedroom eyes at each other. Even if they aren’t romantically entangled in the episode itself, the fact that they went with this particular image rather than something more obviously platonic is almost certainly a nod to the Lyrabon pairing.

My mother squishes her cheek with her friends and sisters all the time, and she’s married. To my father. I’m fairly certain that cheek-squishing is just something that girls do, romance or not.
The second one clutches at straws. A kiss is not the only thing that could be leading to. It’s not even the most probable thing.
The third one is also something that sisters and “gurlfrands” do.
Still need more evidence. :P
I thought that got proven some time ago. The infamous EQG cheek squish, or the time they were moving toward each other and then Derpy pops out of the well next to them, or Bon Bon’s saddlebag having Lyra’s CM on it… I expect episode 200 to be about their wedding.
Also, this is obviously one of those mid-blink screencaps that we have thousands of here on the Booru.
We need more evidence to conclude that they’re actually a couple.
This is why a great number of us own tinfoil. XD
