What were cartoons like back in your day, old timer? :P
XD
the idea that mirrors are secretly watching you is terrifying
the things my mirror has seen, man
Lol well it seems were in the same boat lol. Also, I only knew about it when I joined the brony fandom.
1982?
I was 5 then.
I was an only child, so I never saw any of the girls cartoons as I was growing up.
I’ve only really watched any of them with my daughter.
I insisted on showing my kids all the old series I grew up with, (Thundercats, Dogtanian and the Muskerhounds, Cities Of Gold, Trapdoor (both my kids loved this), The Wombles (didn’t get a good reception so we left that), Transformers original series (which I was mad on as a kid, to the point of being obsessed), Dreamstone, Visionaries, M.A.S.K., Dungeons and Dragons, He-Man, Ninja Turtles), and my missus basically followed suit, hunting down things like ‘Care Bears’ and ‘My Little Pony’ (gen 1).
I’ve also found several of those old series have had new seasons added since I grew up. Cities of gold for example now has a season 2, with a season 3 in the works.
Didn’t know Dogtanian had a second season until I found it whilst looking for the first season.
Still want to hunt down a copy of ‘The Moomins’ (Can’t even remember anything about that series), but whenever I’ve looked, the prices are astronomical.
Stingray, Thunderbirds, Terrahawks and Captain Scarlet are 4 more I’d like to add to the pile too.
Whippersnapper.

Thanks, way to make me feel old. :P Actually the very first MLP releases were in 1982/83, the first MLP special was in 1984. :) I was born 1982, round about when it all started (though my sister and I only really started to take notice when the first special came to TV in the UK in about 1985…)
