This episode changed everything. Never again will a viewer be able to watch the first episode of the show without yelling “No Twilight, go to the party, GO TO THE PARTY!!” at their tv/computer.

Totally and I can’t wait to read them.  
Like Moondancer visiting Twi in Ponyville and then comparing herself to all her dropdead gorgeous and wonderful friends while she is more an average looking pone with not such an out-going or nice or cool or reliable or etc etc personality. And then while jealousy eats her up in the chapters where she watches Twi interact with her Ponyville friends and Twi and co try so hard to be her friend while she pushed the other five away till it comes down to Moondancer shouting at them all and leaving the party/picknick/whatever and when she’s alone in the moonlight lit night she realizes as she looks up to the star that she’s jealous because she loves Twilight and wants to have such a close if not closer relationship to her.  
And yet the one she loves, admires and now has befriended again is an alicorn princess, seeked by many and adored by even more and she is just Moondancer, just study-happy Moondancer and nothing else.  
And then Twilight arrives, having looked for her and Moondancer turns around to her friend she loves with tears running down her cheeks~
 
Boy, that would hit home with many readers!

See. To all the sjws who give people a hard time for not shipping the “brony pandering girl-on-girl is hot” crap, I have something to throw into their faces. I was actually shipping this about 2 scenes in because THIS is how you do shipping right. Why? A couple reasons. 1. They have a notable backstories. 2. Similar interests and personalities. 3.there is something to gain from it, as it helps them grow from the experience. 4. They actually talked to each other. 5. They have a great chemistry that actually came from the show and not some random fanfic.  
In other words I ship them because they actually have a little thing called substance compared to some overrated tripe of your usual pairings.

Between the big emotional breakdown beforehand, the fact that she was looking forwards to Twi specifically, how she even presumably was modeling her look after her, there are no breaks on this shipping train even if these tracks only go one way.

What a great ending to a great episode.
