Quincy is fine. I do think Berrow, or whoever approved it, thought it was relatable to the kids, but it’s still silly enough for Discord. And how the fish stays alive need explaining? This is Discord, it doesn’t have to make sense. It’s probably alive due to his own magic.
 
If you read the book it really feels like the decision was made with the kiddies in mind. Berrow’s books are really simple kiddy shit.

They should just write Smooze as his pet. Is already less sapient than Angel Bunny and seems to be immortal like Discord. And Discord already used a leash and a collar on him when locking him behind doors.

You know, I can’t help but feel the entire reason Berrow chose a fish was simply to have something that’s a kid-familiar pet that none of the Mane 6 have, because Discord is like the worst possible choice for fish owner ever. The only worse pet for him would be a dog. Seriously, fish die if you feed them too much, they die if you feed them too little, they die if the PH of their tank isn’t perfect, they die if you clean their bowl, they die if their bowl gets too dirty… how is Captain Distractible going to keep a fish alive?
 
Unless he’s already dead and Discord’s animating him with his power. Discord might have a zombie fish for a pet.
 
But fish have no emotional attachment to their owners and they’re hard to keep alive. Discord should have had a bird, like a parrot or something – something smart enough to hunt for its own food in his chaos dimension and still find its way home, something capable of emotional attachment to its owner but that won’t be devastated if he doesn’t show up for a few days. Or a cat, but Rarity has one. (Rarity would do well with fish. They’re beautiful, decorative and her finicky precise nature is well suited to caring for fish.) Or something bizarre, like a spider or a platypus.

Could be. But at the same time since it could involve things precious to him the concept could allow for some plot, joke or reference.

That also might have been just a reference to the mark of chaos on his cane in the Gala

I have a feeling we might see more things marked with his crest of chaos. Sunbutt mentioned that things marked with it are important to him or something.
 
And thats exactly how I expect Quincy to appear if he does. Most likely a little detail in his house if we do see it again.

yeah, I noticed that she referenced all the episodes, Smooze episode included. Perhaps there’s some hints about Discord second episode in S5. Pony of Shadow maybe? Discord will turn into a Unicorn? Most of the things seem like a reference to old episodes. Maybe Quincy will just appear in the background inside his house.

Comics don’t seem to fit in as easily as the books though. Books have actually hinted more solidly, so I think we might be seeing a couple things mentioned in this one.

Well books are as much canon as comics, so don’t expect seeing Quincy any time soon just like Tiberius
