That, and as I mentioned elsewhere, Thumper there was loaded with a 40mm buckshot shell rather than a 40mm grenade. Because a grenade rifle that doubles as a shotgun seems just close enough on the side of sane to be reasonable.
Eh, depends on the type she uses. She can fly around and derp people in the face just fine with it.
That, and it’s a gun from a FoE story, so at least some of the recoil can be negated as being removed thanks to fancy magicy-stuff in the gun itself. It’s played more realistically with her other gun, a .50 BMG-caliber automatic sniper rifle.
The kick must be absolutely devastating if the shell is that big.
