that’s probably the thing about relapses.
 
it hits much harder than the first or so times it happened (think relapsed addicts. it becomes harder to reform everytime you fall off the wagon).

Yes, I agree. I think she’s grown a lot now and it makes me happy to see her not have anymore relapses, at least for now.

Yeah, that’s the kind of thing that was OK in small doses but I’m glad it’s not overtaking her character anymore.

I know this thread’s old, but I was thinking about this lately and stumbled right onto this thread about it. Couldn’t resist.
 
Anyway, all the characters truly having flaws and then having to overcome them, fix the damage they’ve done with them, this including even Garnet herself, leader and main mom and all around awesome character who it turns out is made of love… amazing.
 
However, around the time this thread’s talking about, Pearl’s issues that made her a better character in season one doses were now eclipsing the rest. From tricking Garnet into fusing to teaching Connie that Steven alone matters and it’s okay if she dies, any time she was the featured gem she was doing more harm than good due to her Rose obsession and/or feeling lost without her, and then learning her lesson only to forget it next time. I’m glad they backed off of it some, limited how far into the dark side it can push her.

Yes, I agree. Forgiving someone and building up that trust again takes time. I’m glad they patched things up. ^^ I like how they show Pearl and her flaws. Makes her character feel more real to me

they managed to turn things around with pearl with the last two episodes but i like that she’s not magically forgiven

That’s more of an opinion I guess. I love all the characters of the show and I think they’re all developing nicely.
