That’s the problem with villain team ups. They break down at the worst times.
Scourge would probably also plan to betray him, and both parties’ betrayal would blow up in their faces, allowing the good guys to get the advantage.
King Sombra: Oh, will.
Perhaps, but honestly to me Sonic hasn’t really changed that much if you consider the cartoons/comics as separate canon from the games. And like I said they do still have nods to the old games, and stuff in them. (Like the badniks returning in “Sonic Lost World,” and the chili dog nod I mentioned.)
Heck, they even brought back the “Swatbots” (from SatA.M. Sonic) in the DS RPG game “Sonic Chronicles.”
I never said it was a logical hatred, but we’ve all seen how nasty people can get when a character they love is changed.
Agreed, and also it’s kinda interesting that an “evil twin” character would have such a huge desire to prove he’s not “just another evil twin,” and “better/different” then Sonic, and such. In a way, it’s like he’s trying to show he’s not some “lame recolor,” like people who know nothing of his character assume when they first see him.
For a psychotic hedgehog, he’s got some hidden depths.
@Ridley Wolf
Well, to be fair “SatA.M.” is practically an A.U. and different canon from the games. Also Sonic liking chili dogs was only canon in the old cartoons/comics. Ironically, “Sonic Unleashed” made that canon in the games now.
I think some let nostalgia for the series blind them to much. Some think Sonic should be 100% like the old games, or 100% like the old (long-cancelled) SatA.M. show, or the “Sonic Adventure” games, or “Sonic X,” ect. Frankly, I appreciate all the different versions of Sonic, and don’t really think Sonic has to be only “one way,” or another. The Mario & Zelda series has many different games, and many different takes/alternate canons in ‘em, so I don’t see why Sonic fans can’t accept that for Sonic, as well.
So he’s the evil twin from another dimension?
Honestly, that doesn’t make him any better.
I preferred Sonic back when he was a tubby little smartass who loved chili dogs.
(This may have something to with the fact that in the ’90s, I myself was a tubby little smartass who loved chili dogs.)
I think the reason so many people hate the Sonic fandom with a passion is because they remember it at its peak, when Sonic was still fighting Robotnik on the Genesis, and SatAM defined the character off the console.
The character has been so drastically altered from what he used to be that many of the original fans feel betrayed.
Reading the idea for Scourge’s super form color is both clever and a bit creepy. Plus I can’t remember which comic, but there was a moment where Scourge broke into Sonic’s house only to be confronted by his dad, and all it took was his scolding to break Scourge down into tears.
Scourge started as an evil twin. When he realized he could carve out his own identity, he took that to heart and started remaking his entire world according to the new evil paradigm. For that, I think he’s carved himself out a spot in the pantheon of villains.
@Ridley Wolf
Actually, Scourge is from the “Sonic the Hedgehog” Archie Sonic comic canon, (never once appeared in the games) and technically he was around longer then almost every other Sonic character. (Including the other “evil hedgehog look-alikes.”) He’s basically an evil version of Sonic from Anti-Mobius, an A.U. from the comic canon, therefore literally an evil twin. (So him looking like Sonic is somewhat justified. He IS Sonic.)
I actually kinda like Scourge. He is the only genuine “evil” hedgehog in Sonic. (Shadow & Silver were just misguided, and basically not even real villains.) He’s not emo, or have any of that angsty bull backstory or anything.
@Malledeus
Frankly, I like him better as a “recolor with a different personality who isn’t easily beaten constantly,” as opposed to how he used to be a “samecolor with the same personality as Sonic, and easily beaten.” (Scourge used to be kinda lame back when he was just known as “Evil Sonic,” and blue.)
Also, the green color is possibly an homage to the famed “Ashura” glitch from Sonic 2.
Although to be fair I prefer him over any shitty red and black alicorn oc.
Scourge has been in comics waaaaay before Shadow was invented, except he was called Evil Sonic and was born in a different dimension.
Isn’t Shadow supposed to be the antithesis to Sonic?
Why do they have to keep churning out more crappy characters?
as the uploader, i do try and add useful tags to avoid haters seeing this like sonic the hedgehog, if they don’t like it.
there’s nothing more i can do.
