Description
There have been alot of jokes about Starlight Glimmer being a ponified Stalin, but her methods and ideology seem to be more consistent with those of Pol Pot.

I don’t remember. Was DT’s mom shown 11 months ago? Because I don’t think there’s much room for argument for her to be the worst.
Nor Snips.
That’s not how you spell Twist.
Pol Pot was known as “Vach du Mach” or One with the Gun.
On the surface, society in Democratic Kampuchea was strictly egalitarian. The Khmer language, like many in Southeast Asia, has a complex system of usages to define speakers’ rank and social status. These usages were abandoned. People were encouraged to call each other “friend”, or “comrade” (in Khmer, មិត្ដ mitt), and to avoid traditional signs of deference such as bowing or folding the hands in salutation.

Also: Starlight Glimmer is worst pony.
Yep. Sounds just like Mao’s China or Pol Pot’s Cambodia: ever read about how Mao tried to industrialize China by having farmers make steel in backyard furnaces?
It’s tough, colt, but it’s life…
Yeah, Glimmer’s methods and ideology seem most similar to those of Maoism. Pol Pot was inspired by the practices of the Cultural Revolution and many of the things the Khmer Rouge did in Cambodia/Kampuchea also occurred during the Cultural Revolution in China.
Minus sleeper agents all over a continent.
*an
Yeah, they were pretty much a Indochinese version of DAESH.
he’s not an a easy guy to reference to IMO. unlike the nazis/soviets the khmer rouge ain’t exactly a good group to romanticize (they don’t have an iconic look or hardware) and his claim to fame is killing most of his OWN people.
Thanks!

Believe it or not, I think this is the first reference to Pol Pot on Derpibooru.
A VISIONARY, VISION IS SCARY

Well, Jim Jones and Pol Pot were quite similar to one another in terms of their ideology and their methods. Infact, Jim Jones expressed his admiration for both Pol Pot and Pol Pot’s mentor (Mao Zedong) on numerous occasions. The main difference between the two was that Pol Pot implemented his policies on a national scale.
