I’d play the hell out of this.

Man I wish I had Mario Kart Double Dash, it seemed like such a fun-ass game! On the other hoof, If this game WAS real, I’d always choose Trixie and whomever else I desire as my combo.

Celestia/Luna:
 
Solar Prominence: Celestia shows why she’s the sun’s master. She flies up and bursts with light blinding other drivers. Effectively turning herself into a miniature sun. The effect looks great… if you have sunglasses.
 
Nightmare Fall: Luna decides to enter the fray and invades the minds of other ponies. Using her dreamworld abilities, the Princess of Night causes horrible images to appear and haunt opponents making them hallucinate and lose control. Sweet Dreams, My little ponies.

I want this so bad.

Why waste perfectly good food? That will just make the tracks all the more dirtier and a pain to clean.

We almost had a pony-in-carts-race kind of game a few years ago, but then the programers got blindsided by real life, and the effort wasn’t picked up by anyone else.

List of Ponyville Kart: Double Dash attacks:
 
Derpy Hooves/Golden Harvest:
 
Derp Dump: Golden Harvest and Derpy switch places as the grey Pegasus is jettisoned from the kart and sent flying at opponents taking control of them and sending them swerving off course.
 
Food Fright: Golden now takes the role of attacker and begins digging in a bag of old rotten veggies and throwing them at anypony nearby.
 
Octavia/Vinyl Scratch:
 
Perish Song: Octavia begins playing a somber tune with her cello and can give a tear jerking performance that is so effective it causes the engines of nearby karts to conk out.
 
Bass Quake: Vinyl gets to play with her favorite speakers and lets loose with a thumping bass that shakes the ears of ponies and the course. The sounds eventually shake the opposing teams off the track.
 
Bon Bon/Lyra
 
Bon Bomb: Bon Bon picks out a sweet looking treat then hands it off to another driver. They may try to eat it but will end up having a blast instead as the explosion launches them into the air.
 
Lyrical Lullaby: Lyra takes out her lyre and begins playing, soothing any other drivers within earshot and making them go to sleep. This is one tune opponents will want earplugs for.
 
Gilda/Rainbow Dash:
 
Pecking Order: Gilda takes to the skies and begins pestering other drivers, pecking and clawing at them, allowing Rainbow to speed past them and possibly into the lead.
 
Rain Boom: Rainbow Dash brings in her favorite cloud then picks out an unfortunate driver and begins hitting them with lightning. The shock will arrest the opponent movement for a few precious seconds and probably their hearts.
 
Applejack/Rarity:
 
Barn Afterburner: Thanks to her sister, Applebloom, AJ has a fancy new invention to hitch onto her ride. With the push of a button the rocket sends the pair racing across the track at speeds even Rainbow Dash would envy.
 
Fashion Crash: Rarity is a well known seamstress and can put together a beautiful piece in no time. This day though she’s feeling generous and wants some pony to have it free of charge. Try not to run off the track though when the new dress hits you in the face.
 
Trixie/Twilight Sparkle:
 
Cheap Trick: The Great and Powerful Trixie has something special to show you. Trixie summons her hat and cape for a great act and picking out a pursuing team will drape her cape over them and with a wave of her wand will make them vanish. Only to reappear in last place.
 
Teleportation Trap: Twilight puts her extensive powers to use and will take hold of a team in her telekinetic grip and in a bright purple flash send them further back in the pack. It may take a few seconds for the other drivers to figure out where they are.
 
Fluttershy/Pinkie Pie:
 
Animal Crossing: Fluttershy signals for her wild friends to run across the track at a certain point blocking other drivers from continuing forward while they hear “I’m sorry” from the apologetic Pegasus.
 
Pie Toss: Pinkie brings an oven from out of the blue (don’t ask how she got it.) and bakes up treats that would make anypony’s mouth water. But these sweets aren’t for eating… they’re ammunition. The party mare will begin hurling the baked good (and bads) all over the track splattering anypony unfortunate enough to be within range of the sugar fall. Even after the ammo has been wasted it stays on the track and will send any kart that hits them spinning out of control.
