I guess it wouldn’t be as well known here since I only really know about it because I love nature programs but I just love its powers of mimicry.
Also if I ever do go somewhere where these birds do live I will be very tempted to somehow imprint on a wild population various horror movie sounds which might then be repeated in people’s backyards or outside an unfortunate campers tent.

I was thinking perhaps the lyrebird isn’t as well known in North America (I’m not entirely sure if it is or not), but then again… Maybe they did completely miss such a great visual pun. :P
