Chen could override it, yeah, but from what’s been done thus far, we can write for any character so long as it doesn’t interfere with the main continuity and stays within universe guidelines. As far as Flash’s character goes presently, there is no mutual attraction between him and Twi. They’ve crossed paths before, but nothing beyond a friendly hello, though persistent rumors within the Royal Guard claim he’s a hopeless romantic for her.
 
Which lends to the beauty of stories within the same continuity: perspective. Distortions of the truth can lead to very interesting developments.

I meant does Chengar even consider him a factor? Big enough shared continuities mean that even if one side author writes a story involving Flash, that doesn’t mean others would accept it or the main author could easily override it.

Not neccesarily. Flash is posted in the CE, so he’s not in Ponyville often enough to be considered as major a character as Storm, who deserves the position as Twilight’s bodyguard.
 
Though a little interaction between the Flash and Storm would be fun to see, even if they never get along ;)

I’m surprised Flash is actually in the universe. From what I saw, there’s quite a popularity contest in terms for character prominence, and this OC seems to has taken his role.

I want to use Storm Kickers chest as a pillow…

Right now, it appears to be a one-sided crush by Twilight.
 
Straight characters? Quite a few of them. [counts fingers] The canon couples, a few OC couples, Time Turner, Minuette, Flash Sentry, Thunderlane… that’s it off the top of my head.

Oh yes, I heard about that too. I’m not exactly a fan of stories that start out mundane, comedic, and slice of life for several chapters and then suddenly go into a new more serious route. That’s something that should happen earlier on in a story.
 
Hmm, well it’s good to hear some guys were given strong roles in the fic at least. Though, is the author shipping Twilight with this mare oc, or are the tags pushing it?

You can only say so much about that topic in a story until it looses it’s “teen” rating.
 
Also, the fic takes a pretty drastic turn for a while, it’s not all about Cloud Kicker’s social life.

Several. Cloud Kicker mentioned at least two colts she gave attention too, and there were several straight married couples that played decent enough side roles towards the end of the fic.

Still strikes me as odd since while I can see the ponies being more open to either relationship, it appears straight pairings are a bit more common. I’m not hating on the concept, I just think it might be a bit blown out of proportion in this fandom. {To this day, I’ve only read one same sex fic, Sucker For A Cute Face, more so for how interesting, cute, and funny the author does in building up the relationship between human Fluttershy and Adagio. I really recommend it.}
 
Were there any prominent straight characters, or pairings?

That must be waaaay later on as I stopped after some several chapters due to not being able to handle it anymore. I don’t know if I count mentions as being enough when literally everyone else seems to not mention it at all.  
Oh well, lesson learned.

I’ve read the entire fic, and straightness is entirely a thing. CK mentions several stallions she’s slept with during the story.
 
To me, it’s more like the ponies in the Winningverse simply don’t care about the gender of their partner, instead of being gay/straight/lesbian. It’s more like a pansexual universe, that just has a higher proportion of mares to stallions.

I read some of it (for self torture, you see) and trust me, everyone is a lesbian, it is just assumed that they are, they don’t mention stallions, being a lesbian is normal, and everyone assumes everyone else is also a lesbian and no one bats an eye at the thought. Cloudkicker mentions ’banging’ a stallion once, but I’m convinced she made that part up.

Wait, shipping? I often have to wonder if every mare in the Winning Pony verse is lesbian or something. I didn’t read much of it, since it wasn’t my cup of tea but from what I’ve seen from artwork and other people, it does have a lot of lesbians. Not bashing or anything, but it seems a bit too much.
