And besides, that’s how all artists feel, they do something just because, and then everybody who sees it tries to speculate on what the artist was thinking when they created it. The truth is usually pretty simple, and in this case it was.
*I’m still #4446 btw

Well really, I just drew Pinkie a few times on a page. I did that multiple times in earlier drawings, drawing one character too close to another to make sense in comic book format. I can appreciate the interpretation in a way although I don’t really think of Pinkamena as being murderous and whatnot, it’s just that she ends up that way if she feels sad (sometimes.)

Did you like my interpretation or would you rather just say it’s a funny image of Pinkie getting excited about party supplies regardless of who gave them to her?

This is a grand metaphor for the internal conflict when faced by the realization that no one sees life through the same lens. For while Pinkie Pie acts with happiness and exuberance, her alter ego of Pinkamena, faces a grim existence hinged upon a selfish and maniacal goal to destroy the existence of anyone who does not submit to her will, driven by a desire to control the world. But Pinkie fights this desire with the laughter and joy granted to her by her cutie mark, and the maniacal evil pushes away the joy, represented by the bucket of party supplies to the elation of the laughter side of Pinkie Pie, denoting the ultimate triumph of her good and selfless heart. I applaud you Barry, for your deep artistic insight. :-)
