(I too like to riff on the Sonic fandom from time to time) Pretty much any fandom’s OCs tend to have… issues.  
I intend to have a few bat ponies in the future of this story (Luna’s guard, no spoilers. You already know they exist). But the key is I don’t think of them as MAH OHCEES they’re just characters that happen to be bat ponies. Not Luna’s daughter from a magical accident with starswirl that incubated inside of a dwarf star for 3000 years before emerging in a supernova, giving her super echolocation powers using light instead of sound waves for instant location.

Just as bad, I say. MLP OCs in general can be just as stupid and try-hard as Sonic OCs, if not moreso .-.
 
That’s bad, because I used to have my own stupid OC a few years back and I know just how incredibly asanine and laughably bad Sonic OCs can be :S
