I personally have always headcanoned that a lovemeal given knowingly and willingly to a changeling would benefit the feedee much more than one that was gotten through coercion, deceit or force, as well as mitigating (or outright negating) the harmful effects to the feeder.

Not going to lie, I pretty much disliked every single thing they did with Chrysalis in that issue. I tend to just full-on avoid the comics; I don’t even read ‘em since I think they’re absolutely terrible.

Took me a while to know what was going on in the picture.

That’s always been Chrysalis’ appeal to me, is that she manages to be creepy and attractive at the same time. Also she’s pretty much the closest we have to a canon monster pony.

I’m with you on this one, man. I’ve never really been a die hard Chrysalis fan (other than thinking the changelings have the coolest designs in the show period), but at the risk of sounding like a pompous jerk and what not, I think the comics Chrysalis ruins pretty much everything about her that made her cool.

It’s just… the whole point of changelings is they “take the form of someone you love and feed off your love for them” as Cadance said in the show. That’s their thing. Why take such an interesting and unique characteristic and turn it into a boring weapon?
