I also love it when the ponies act like ponies too. That’s what I love about season one. There was no stupid chest hair.

That’s probably because they were both antagonists in their debut, as both of them are Rainbow Dash’s rivals.

So I was talking with Rainbow Dash last Thursday and she told me that both Wind Rider and Lightning Dust are currently the only ponies that have retired of being wonderbolts.

That walk cycle.

Thanks for the horse lingo, sadly I’ve not been on a farm since a child so not sure what they were called. But my great grand uncle took pride in showing off how difficult such a thing is for a horse to pull off. Not crazy hard, but some careless trainers have made their horses sprain their hind-legs doing this.

I know, right? The animators/storyboarders for this episode were top notch! I love it when the ponies act like ponies. Too often they act no different then humans that you forget they were supposed to be distinctly pony in nature.
 
I never did upload the credits scene. So much care was put into the placement of those credits vs other episodes, especially to ensure they didn’t cover up Rarity’s fantastic facial expressions. It was very subtle so I wanted to point it out, but someone already did an upload so I didn’t want to put up needless copies, even if it was to point out the movie level credits placements they pulled off.

I didn’t realize that that particular movement was high class for horses. Now that I have, I have to say it’s very impressive for Rarity to just incorporate it into casual conversation. It’d be like performing ballet steps while talking to your friends and coworkers without any of them really noticing.

This episode was fucking amazing.

I once watched a cat walk sideways, just like Rara here. He then hit something on the floor and fell over. He looked quite pissed off.

The amount of sass and fabulosity in that strut is unmeasureable.

Note the angle of his view as opposed to Rainbow Dash’s. Rainbow is watching Rarity because she’s speaking. Wind Rider is staring at her ass.
