Sunset is realistic to the point that it seems she doesn’t even belong in the universe. I mean she doesn’t have talents that stand out, her backstory is much sadder and there’s no comedic angle on her whatsoever.

Since the Beginning -

After the last two EqG movies, I’ve come to really like Applejack and Sunset Shimmer. Sunset is obviously a dynamic character that’s got an edge towards friends, enemies, and even (if not especially) herself. Applejack is pretty steady, but she’s very much a real, “honest” character. Whenever they’re approached with a problem their reaction never leads me to think “Why would a person think that?” They seem…like real personalities.
