I think something similar would happen or at the very least is treated better than Sunset was because Sunset was their tormentor for three long years and Twilight technically just got here.

Yeah, this is the opposite of what I think will happen in the next film. It’s both lazy writing as it was already used in Rainbow Rocks and heartbreaking if Twilight had just transferred from a school here she had it rough (and I use the term loosely) to one where she gets even worse treatment over one little mistake that she didn’t mean to make.
 
Instead, I imagine everyone would immediately put her on top of the “most popular girls in school” list on the basis she looks like the princess. And Twilight feels that she hasn’t earned their love, instead rubbing it off from the other Twilight. Especially if her friends tend to compare the two passive aggressively. She would then wonder if they love her for her or just because she looks like their Twilight.

I know this image was just made because someone gets boners to girls being tormented, but I’m pretty sure everyone knows it was a different Sparkle by the end of the movie.

I think the student body they figured it out fairly quickly based on her comments and actions.

Actually if pony-twilight were to come back, she would most likely be with human-twilight, thus everyone would know it’s not the same person.  
Not to mention everyone should have realized it’s not the same twilight considering human-twilight went to crystal prep to compete with them.(the people who greeted human-twilight in the beginning didn’t know she was from crystal prep, as they don’t know it’s their uniform) also the glasses kinda give it away  
Also considering how they treated Sunset, this is far more angry than they would actually do.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the student body ended up turning on Twilight for becoming Midnight Sparkle if they made another movie, even mistaking Pony!Twilight for EG!Twilight…

Pony Twilight will have a lot to catch up on next time she has highschool adventures :o
