Slay the Spire is a massively overrated game. No matter how hard I try I barely win unless I get a broken deck in Act 1 that carries me for the rest of the run, otherwise I get destroyed. This is not good game design by any stretch.
 
And yet, when I watch some Twitch streamers play this game the RNG goes so much in their favor that I’m almost convinced that they’re cheating somehow or are pretending to play live with pre-recorded runs, because if I try and play like them I almost immediately die.

I’m a musician and college student, so I’m kind of a late to bed, late to rise type of guy. This came out of nowhere and really did a number on my ears. I think they’re still ringing…

To add to what I said above, I also hate when game devs design their games around a few elite players (which of course makes the game unbearable to everyone else).
 
Slay the Spire and Darkest Dungeon are both prime offenders, because both of those games listened too much to a select few players who wanted more challenge.

Historically bad red-tide blooms, worst wildfires in history in California, intense flooding in VA, WVa, NC, and SC, Louisiana losing several football fields worth of land each month, and the hurricane scale might have to be moved up to 6.
 
At this point, you’d either have to be willfully ignoring what is happening, or you’re too stupid to breed.

Are you referring to updates Devs are doing with their already released games, or are you upset that game devs target a niche market?  
…Bro I would rather that devs design games for their preferred audience rather than make games for everybody. Remember: Try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one.
 
You think UNDERTALE is for everybody? Bullet-hell, Pixel art, RPG-Maker–that’s not something modern gamers would WANT now, would it?
 
Niche games, and games that DON’T follow trends usually either never make it, or become a new standard. Minecraft wasn’t for everybody when it came out, but come a few years and “Minecraft Clones” was a genre.
 
The only games that are made for EVERYONE are those hyper casual games on the mobile games market, the ones even grandmoms play. Apparently you’re getting your wish. A LOT of major game developers are now going the mobile casual route. I for one, would rather have someone STILL making games for a niche group with very little, dedicated fans.

You know not every game is everyone, right? Like Fromsoftware doesn’t have to make Dark Souls easier so other people can get into it. Developers are not obligated to cater to everyone. They do what they like to, and as long as there’s passion and love put into it that’s all that matters.  
In short, some people aren’t going to like what a Dev makes and that’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with a Dev making a game for “elite” players. You are not obligated to support said game, either.

Darkest Dungeon was released years ago but since then they’ve changed the game so much that it’s barely recognizable, mostly because of a few Twitch streamers that spent like 24 hours a day figuring out every optimal strategy. Every exploit (ie. what makes the game actually fun if you can manage it) has been removed so the game would be more challenging for those people, but it makes it next to impossible for everyone else. I cannot beat a Color of Madness campaign on normal mode, while I was able to beat the game before on the hardest difficulty.
 
And Slay the Spire was always hard, but they’ve done the exact same thing as the Darkest Dungeon devs to the point the game is almost no fun.

Devs don’t like people messing with their games in ways they’re not supposed to. This is why “exploit” carries a negative connotation in the gaming industry for the creators, but something players are desperately wanting.
