The recording of my awful voice

It was my first time singing it on the program AND I did it with my eyes closed…. buuuuut… even considering that I sucked :P

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwSqPTVShvBlM2lFYm5ZMnVPV3M/view?usp=sharing

I also forgot to record desktop audio so it makes my voice sound extra bad :(

Hmm… as of right now it’s only available in 360p for streaming… I highly recommend downloading to get the high quality recompressed version

360p is only 96kbps horribly encoded mp3 audio and also it’s well… pretty low res

Google Drive can be finicky and very slow with getting the higher quality settings ready… sometimes they even never appear

I guess I could always use Youtube… it’s just kind of a habit since Youtube always takes down my videos for “copyright infringement”

Seriously… I uploaded one of my singings and it got taken down… wtf????

It said it was an automatic audio/visual match

Oh… right… MKV format… compatibility isn’t great

I do MKV format because 1. it’s better than the crappy mp4 container and 2. I can do Opus audio because the AAC encoder on the program I use to reencode is glitched and sounds crappy

I guess I do do 320kbps in Apple AAC for real-time encoding and then 320kbps Opus for the reencode… so mp3 would probably be plenty high even if the encoder isn’t great… but… eh…

320kbps in those efficient formats probably is a little excessive… oh well

Comparing bitrates

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwSqPTVShvBlc21ta1FDaVpaOUk

To me 64kbps sounds not very good… a LOT of frequencies were taken out so it sounds distorted and just.. yeah

96kbps sounds a LOT better… but still not great

128kbps is actually starting to sound pretty good.. but still significantly distorted

160kbps is… pretty dang good…. It’s starting to become hard for me to tell a difference

192kbps is… EXTREMELY close to being transparent to me… I mean it’s almost impossible for me to tell a difference

256kbps is… practically lossless to me… 100% transparent

160kbps is the best bang for your buck… sounds great covers the whole 0-20khz spectrum and doesn’t take a whole bunch of file size

I also included the FLAC just for comparison… it’s only 16-bit but I can get the 24-bit… eh… I figured 16-bit was good enough… there really won’t be an audible difference at all between 16-bit and 24-bit

And this test was with REALLY awesome headphones and a good amp…

I have the HA-2 which is the outdated version of the HA-2SE but besides the internal chip it’s pretty much the same
