I’ve used brands other than wacom before. I don’t recommend them. If you want novice level and aren’t sure about comic ting a lot of cash alt the moment, go with bamboo. I used to use the older equivalent (Graphire) and it took about 6 or so years before I could tell I needed the upgrade.
Well, if you go with Huion, make sure it’s actually a Huion. I followed a link to a tablet that said Huion in the description, but it was a Turcom tablet and didn’t even match what it looked like in the pictures. Further investigating led me to Huion’s facebook that clarified that you should buy from their Amazon store for official Huion tablets.
I actually bought the $50 Monoprice after that. I haven’t started arting with it yet, but I know of some artists that use it.

Yeah, the tablets looked similar besides the logo back when I was making comparisons. I checked the emails I had from March and pulled up the item’s page. Looks like they fixed the images and removed “Huion” from the name.
Here’s the facebook post in response to confusion brought up by another customer. I think it’s important cause I’ve seen a post complaining about how terrible their “Turcom Huion” tablet was and they had bought the exact same one I did and the images were wrong.
