I understand how you feel, but honestly, that was my first post I have ever done in this thread despite knowing about the featured tab for a while. I wouldn’t mind recommending other artist work, theres plenty I think are wonderful too.

A goal for posters in the thread, at least since I’ve been here for sure, was to try suggesting artwork by artists who haven’t been Featured yet. So all my suggestions have followed this.

I will say this at least, based on your art I think you will have good judgement.

Uhm … the site has been here for long enough that isn’t such a concern any more.

That’s not a bad goal for you to have for yourself, but whether something gets nominated or not really depends on the individual staff member’s approach.

For me, I do look to see if someone’s been featured previously, or at least whether they’ve been featured in the last 3 years. But I also sometimes nominate things regardless of how many times someone’s been featured or how recently.

Sometimes, an artist will “Nail The Moment” and then that’s the right time to feature the image. For myself, those tend to be things like Noot’s New Years images … even if the delay between being voted on and getting featured means they may not show up until long after the new year’s is over

In this thread, if someone finds an artwork by someone who has been featured that is even more amazing and wonderful then please suggest it.

tbh I just scan this thread every other week for pretty pictures without checking who posted it or really looking into the artist (unless it pops out for some reason)…

A perfectly valid approach. Maybe I should try that - then I might keep up with nominating new images more often.

It was discussed a handful of times over the years by staff in here (maybe it was more mods than admins), the intended purpose of the thread’s existence was to use the discussion to specifically try suggesting artists who haven’t been Featured yet. That way nominations could be refreshed with new content.

But it was always known that wasn’t an absolute for a Feature, just something we were trying to aim for.

If that’s not actually / no longer the case, I’ll broaden some of my suggestions, but the past 4-5 years all of my suggestions and 90% of other suggestions were of un-featured artists.
