Thanks a bunch guys

So an artist friend of mine named YurAdHear was complaining to me about how he hated how often his pictures would fly under the radar on deviantart with nary a comment in sight to provide any critique (positive or negative). Then I brought up the idea of posting them here for him. He gave me permission to post all of his stuff (that was new enough for him not to feel embarrassed about it.) so I sat down for an hour and posted everything he would let me, tagging as much as I could think of. There were comments on a couple of pictures almost immediately, and faves/likes within seconds. As of now none of them even have a downvote. Someone even tagged a picture of his >>757481 as “adorable” which I didn’t because if I had my way all ponies would heh heh heh. all of this has made him feel really good about himself. thank you all for making my friend very happy.

Well it helps that this is a dedicated pony site. While on DA you’d have to contend with everything else being submitted.

His style is not unique, its easily blends in with other vectors in DA.

On a more serious note, it would help him if he went with fully on-model (stuff that looks like it could be from the show but isn’t gets attention), go for a more unique style (it’s kind of on model shapes and proportions, but not lines or shading) or formed a “theme” (Madmax, for example, had a similar on-model-but-not style, but got really popular because of funny one-offs and comics).

Yeah! Thank you. I really appreciate the feedback. And yeah, lately I’ve been trying to leave the avenue of attempting to make things on model. The more recent things I’ve made were with a black outline, and me messing around with shading.
 
Again, thank you for feedback and all that. It feels really cool to have my stuff in a place where I can get more ideas and suggestions.
