Can't we all get along?
Greetings fellow ‘booru dwellers. I have a proposition, if you’ll lend me your purely metaphorical ears!
See this lovely zebra lady here? I feel that she never gets the attention she deserves. She’s been with the pony fandom since pretty much the beginning, always there and willing to impart her wisdom and alchemy upon other ponies, but alas, she’s not really been ground-breaking enough to be “on fire” popularity-wise. Poor girl has had less than -4000 pics of her in the whole history of Derpibooru, when compared to other ponies in the series.
I mean heck, I know she’ll never have as much popularity as the main six (between 60000 and 100000 for each pony there). But 4000 pics for Zecora doesn’t feel quite right, when even characters with little-to-no lines like Octavia (over 9000), Vinyl Scratch (12500) and Lyra (12600) are kind of whooping the poor zebra, whose been a back-up focus in several episodes.
As such, I propose we have a Zecora Appreciation Day. We already have Derpy Hooves Day (March 1st) and Applejack Appreciation Day (October 15th), so I think giving Zecora her own day is the next logical step. As for the day involved, I did some research and found that there’s a thing called Africa Day every May 25th. Since Zecora is predominantly from the Equestrian equivalent of Africa (Zebrica? Zebrabwe?) and was originally slated to be able to speak Swahili (but in Season 1, the MLP staff hadn’t the time nor resources hire a Swahili translator, so such an idea was dropped) I reckon that would be a nice, suitable day for her to finally shine in the fandom like the stripy dear that she is.
