gross foods we actually eat

I type this as I’m eating some yogurt and thinking, “if yogurt wasn’t something I grew up with, I would think it was gross, I mean it’s basically spoiled milk.” What are some other foods that we eat everyday that would be gross if we weren’t used to them? Milk? Eggs? Cheese?

Potatoe sandwich. No in the potatoe-in-between-bread variety, no. Two pieces of boiled potatoe literaly used as bread between ham and cheese.

what I meant by this thread wasn’t simply gross foods, but foods that would be gross if we weren’t accustomed to them and that most people in the western world eat.

Apparently it’s all about how people view horses. Meat from cows is more aceptible to eat since cows have been raised as a food source since time immemorial.  
Horses on the other hand have been deeply ingrained within society as a sort of companion animal, since people have ridden horses for a very long time.  
Eating meat from a horse would be like eating a dog, abhorrent since dogs are like man’s best freinds and should be treated as more than just an animal.

Though, not a taboo, most Chinese prefer not to eat a horse simply because they find that it tastes bad, for poor people, and some think it’s poisonous. Dogs are a delicacy in the Far East. They’re referred to as “hornless goats”. I know, authentic Asian foods can be scary. It freaks me out as well.

I’ve actually eaten roadkill. Never thought it disgusting really. Maybe because the idea of eating something that was hit by a truck, etc. seemed like hunting to me (I was like 8-9 when I first ate it)

In Michigan if you hit a deer with a car you can take it home even if you don’t have a hunting license or it’s not deer season
