Heh, makes it kinda ironic people were so happy that game got into EVO, and were actually using that reason to laud the game as better then games like SSBU that were denied from EVO.
 
I mean, I’m sure TFH is a great game, but I kinda dislike it when people try to make a popular indie game “compete” with another “mainstream” game, and such. Like how people were trying to compete the Detective Pikachu, and Harley Quinn movies against the Sonic one, and hating on Sonic.

yeah it was another case where the fandom was really putting me off something.  
I never heard of this tournament before but when I first heard that TFH was in the way people were talking about it made me think it was a game award.and really smash only got cut because it lacked one thing that just happen to be super important this year and likely next time it won’t be important

I can kinda understand, I almost got put off “Freedom Planet,” because people were using it to bash Sonic, and state, “This is what a Sonic game should be like!” and such…  
(Ironically, the game features many things people bashed Sonic for. An Anime-esque style story, voice acting, a motorcycle, dark/edgy moments, cheesy humor, and odd physics like being able to slowly walk up, or stand on steep slopes like STH4 controversially did.)
 
Still, I’m glad I didn’t skip FP, because of that, because it is a good game regardless. Nowadays though, ironically some bash it for “being too much like Sonic.” (But it has similarities to Ristar, Sparkster. and other games too.)  
So don’t let those people put you off a game, it’s not the game’s fault it’s fans are annoying.
 
I never heard of, or gave a flip about EVO either honestly. It kinda annoys me people were happy SSBU wasn’t in it, thinking it would get Nintendo to fix SSBU’s online, (which they were already doing, according to Sakurai) or even going so far as to say SSBU was a “bad game,” for not having perfect online, and getting denied from EVO, because of that… (This also got SSB-bashers to come out of the woodwork, and openly hate… “I can’t wait for the next DLC char’ to be another lousy FE character! Derhurhurhur! I’m so funee!”)
 
So honestly, maybe this incident will remind people that EVO, (and online gameplay) isn’t everything, and to put it bluntly… The emperor has no clothes… (Unfortunately, this may be a literal case of that… Ew…)

I didn’t even know the Irate Gamer was still around… Was he the one who tried to claim Super Mario 2/USA was harder then “Lost Levels?” I don’t know how anyone could believe that honestly.

Apparently he stopped making Irate Gamer videos and started making videos about ghost hunting, then made videos about toys to life games, then this Minecraft puppet show game review then back to Irate Gamer episodes.

It’s like if Disney bought one of those rip-off companies and then included the rip-off characters in the new Kingdom Hearts.  
This is…weird. I tried watching Irate Gamer years ago. It was awkward and stilted. Maybe he’s improved?

It’s actually a shame George Lucus, (whom famously hated it) and possibly Disney won’t let it ever be officially released on DVD, or anything, in it’s original, or improved picture quality so we can laugh at it.
 
Even Sega allowed “Sonic Christmas Blast” on DVD, and that was just as corny. (But hey, it had waifu Princess Sally cameo.)
