Although I think I have seen some people say people are only hating on the upcoming harry potter show because of jk rowling’s Transphobia.
Even though most of us are just not interested in seeing the books adapted again.

I honestly don’t think she’s a “phobe,” but regardless, it’s probably too early for an HP reboot.

Though, it would be nice to see them adapt things from the books, the movies ignored. Like the character Peeves.

The movies ignored or skipped many things, people forget.

Actually, the movie didn’t ignore Peeves.
Rik Mayall was casted and even filmed his scenes, just doesn’t make the final cut.
I think you would make more sense to use the unused ideas into other harry potter related stuff. Kinda like how hogwarts legacy and the other games used Peeves. In fact, I’m pretty sure his ps1 model is based on Rik Mayall.

Well, the final film, and sequels didn’t use him at all. So my point still stands. There’s still alot of plots and material they could do more with in an episodic series then a film series, where they are limited to only an hour and a half to 2 hours.

Honestly, I sometimes tire of both sides of the “woke” debates… Both sides are basically the same social justice warriors, with different opinions.

There’s those extremists that falsely think everything is “woke,” and then there’s those that think you’re an “evil conservative” if you criticize any game, corporation, or movie.
You can’t win.

Disney leadership reportedly put a large part of the failure of ‘LIGHTYEAR’ down to the same-sex kiss.

Continuous notes were then given to animators to make Riley come across as “less gay” in ‘INSIDE OUT 2’

Honestly, most people didn’t like Lightyear, not because of that, but because they just thought the movie was dull, or didn’t like how it didn’t follow the cartoon orgins, or changed his characterization from the TS movies.

I am aware of that. I liked the movie, but I think most people didn’t want a serious buzz Lightyear movie and expecting more of a Parody of 90s movies, Especially with the this is the movie Andy saw gimmick , which was probably last minute.
But people still complained about the kiss. I heard it even got banned because of it in some countries.
them again I think rarely a movie bombing is because of one thing

I think there were several reasons it didn’t do well. The commercials for one thing didn’t give any hint of the plot. So bad advertising didn’t help.

I think there was also a bit of bad timing with the casting of Chris Evans as buzz.
As I think that was when tim allen’s political views became more known and people thought that he wasn’t in the movie.
People even said that when he was filming for a Disney show.
Really fans and executives do just as much finger pointing as each other

And from what I hear Tim Allen is pretty center/moderate. He even jokingly called himself “anarchist.”

I find it absolutely hilarious that within the isekai / generic fantasy genre, the “I, an adult male reborn as a teenager (if Isekai), want to live a peaceful, no-stress slice of life with my beautiful (most likely underage) slave girl” storyline is not uncommon.

I’m practically dying. This is peak.

No shade on Tim Allen; he’s entitled to believe what he wants. However, I’d dispute calling him a centrist, and argue that anyone who genuinely thinks he’s one is most likely well right of center themself on at least some issues.

That’s a discussion for the Tartarus thread, though.

We don’t really know all his opinions, and honestly alot of places like Twitter do label you as “right wing” even if you are a liberal that disagrees with one measley issue.
I remember a guy a few years ago even claimed Depibooru was a “right-wing” site oddly enough.

I admit, I lean center myself, as I’ve been berated by liberals and conservatives alike, always being accused of one extreme, or the other.

I honestly am afraid to go in that politics thread lol. Those get fugly alot.

The fact you need to invoke “Twitter” assigning labels is kinda telling on yourself bruv. There’s disproportionately one side that complains about people on Twitter. Just saying.

Dude, I see alot of liberals (especially older ones) or moderates bash Twitter constantly too, it doesn’t make me “far-right,” or something to briefly mock or criticize it… i’ve seen many Derpi users mock Twitter and Tumblr too.
(Plus, isn’t Twitter owned by a more right-wing guy now?)
