I liked Fluttershy being an otaku. It was cute. I may not like the episode but it did have a lot of elements in it that I really did like and enjoy.

Oh yep. The show was a poorly written train wreck of drama (the forced and bad kind of drama, not the good kind). A bunch of characters randomly getting together and hooking up and then breaking up in the very next episode. Rinse and repeat. Lots of cattiness with nearly every character being a vain thing that thinks the world revolves around them. Nearly none of the characters have ANY ounce of likeability to them. Also a lot of the minorities are walking stereotypes.
And yes, that thing about the bisexuals is correct. Kurt (aka walking gay stereotype) was dating Blaine. Blaine thinks he could be bi and he tells him about it. Kurt then says that bisexuals don’t exist and it’s just a term that gay people use when they’re in the closet (which is true for some but not all). Blaine rightfully so chews Kurt out for saying this but the episode ends with Blaine pretty much deciding he’s not bi and that being drunk was the only reason why he had any feelings for the opposite sex. And the episode pretty much kind of plays Kurt in the right despite him being in the wrong.
And I’m sure someone is thinking, “So? It’s not a big deal, right? It must have been a mistake or some sort. The show’s creator, Ryan is gay, so it’s not like he was doing this on purpose, right?”
You see, I would have easily written this off as a mistake but it wasn’t because of multiple tidbits. First would be when the show got into controversy over the earlier, the creator Ryan Murphany said Blaine is 100% gay and then said, “It’s very important to young kids that they know this character [Blaine] is one of them.”
Later on, the show had one of its lesbian characters, Santana, started talking smack about her ex Britney (who was bi but the show never really went out of its way to say she was bi for some weird reason). Basically Santana spends the majority of one episode episode crushing on another girl named Dani and worrying about her being bi and talking about how she never really had a true lesbian experience she her ex wasn’t a true lesbian. Once she finds out Dani is a lesbian too, she pretty much says something like how she
doesn’t have to worry about her new girlfriend straying for penis. To make things more infuriating, this
bitch dumped Britney and left her heartbroken, not the other way around. So her paranoia wasn’t even wanted or justified but yet again, the show kind of plays her as if she was in the right.
Also Ryan Murphy’s other shows have pretty bad track records with bi characters too and so I think that says everything, really.
Said actor was actually arrested during the course of the show for a similar reason but he was let go and was put back in the show. I kid you not. He eventually committed suicide.
There’s other stuff to complain about the show and the people working on it but I’ve derailed this thread enough. (I’m sorry for going on a tangent there.)
