Him making a huge stink again about Fluttercord when it wasn’t warranted bothered me. He and Shylover both have the habit of complaining about it on a frequent basis even when no one is talking about Discord or the ship so it gets kind of annoying. (I’m pretty sure I’d still be annoyed even if I didn’t like the ship.)
But yeah, the whole, “Yep. Religion is a virus….. nothing more.” comment also upset me. Again, even if I wasn’t religious, I’d still be upset at the comment.
@Jarkes
I’m Catholic. And I usually don’t like talking about religion due to these lovely reasons:
- Any religious discussion online can and does often turn into a huge dumpster fire.
- Kinda linked with choice one. I’ve met a few religious people and anti-theists both online and offline that were very toxic and abusive with their beliefs and they left me with a lot of emotional scars. Emotional scars that do get triggered sometimes with these discussions.
- My religion is usually not relevant to most conversations anyways, so why bring it up? It ain’t worth it. There’s this “rule” that people should never bring up sex, religion, or politics in the workplace (or at a party) and I usually try my best to live by that rule when talking in public (and online). Most of that stuff is usually kept private for me and I don’t like talking about either of those three for the most part.
Occasionally I may make the exception here and there, but usually, I just try my best to keep things to myself. And when I do talk about any of those three things, I feel most comfortable talking about them in private 1 on 1 conversations (usually with a person I’ve been friends with for a long time and trust).
