Funimation is shutting down. And Crunchyroll is jacking up their subscription fees.

Dang Funimation I thought would never die ever. What the heck happened?!

It got bought out by Sony and merged with Crunchyroll.

Then Sony wanted to get rid of the Funimation half.

They aren’t jacking up the prices actually (not yet at least). It’s just that the folks who’ve been paying the legacy price for Funimation (i.e. those who signed up before they jacked Up those prices) will have to pay full price for Crunchyroll when their account gets transferred over.

I’m not defending the decision at all, but I’d rather people get angry over the scummy stuff that actually is happening as a result (i.e. the whole Funimation digital copy fiasco).

I stippped usung crunchy after they yanked content for no reaason and made PAID accounts required to watch stuff you used to be able to watch for free.

why they did not get sued for extortion and/or had their HQ raided by and angry mob is still beyond me.

There is always alternatives to Crunchyroll. That’s usually what they really don’t like or want you to know.

I only known about Evangelion from the Evangelion Opus AMV with Bohemian Rhapsody from like 2001.

Is Evangelion this supposed to be this… perplexing… and nightmarish?

Are there any animes you’ll always call by their Japanese name, even if there’s an English title?

I didn’t even know Mirai Nikki had an English name (Future Diary) until fairly recently.

Still no word on “Ghibli Fest 2024”. Probably won’t be announced until near the end of the month like last year.

Also “Castle in the Sky”, “Porco Rosso” and “The Cat Returns” may be the funniest Ghibli movies I’ve ever seen.

Im amazed how there are so few memes of Jojo these days. Like what happened? I thought Stone Ocean would make everyonw excited.

Well, Megan Thee Stallion dressed up as Bruno so that at least has people talking.

For me, Frieren is the best anime currently airing and it’s not even close.

I tried reading the first 5 chapters of the manga but it didn’t work for me.

Just do the anime, or keep trying the manga?
