Yeah. It might be about God’s Valley or something like that. Kaidou might have started as a sweet guy, but then turned sour as he grew older. Kinda like Big Mom. Which may explain why they get along so well.

I’m still curious about where the series will go after this arc. There are still other threats out there. And at least one, which is unknown to the (in-universe) public, could be stronger than Kaidou.

Chapter 1037 gave quite the interesting revelation. There is a Devil Fruit so… something… that the World Government had to rename it to keep its identity out of the history books. Also, this Devil Fruit hasn’t awakened in centuries. Could it be the Kami Kami no Mi? Or perhaps, the Gomu Gomu no Mi? It might be the Yami Yami no Mi. Or a Devil Fruit we don’t know yet. In any case, I hope more about it (as well as the names of the Five Elders) get revealed soon.

According to the narrator, Big Mom’s defeated in chapter 1040 but she’s definitely not dead. So, we’ll probably see her again in Elbaf or something.
Kinda surprised, but no one has mentioned that filming for the One Piece Live Action has started this month. Here’s to hoping the crew can pull it off. I’m honestly rooting for them since the cast comes off as very fun and likable, and the other staff members are fans of the series.

That was quite the finish on Law and Kidd’s part, even if Big Mom is still alive. That just leaves Luffy finishing off Kaido

I’m curious about the results of the win. Onigashima is thousands of miles in the air, and the only thing keeping it afloat is Kaido’s flame clouds. So, unless they remain, Luffy might doom everyone over by defeating the world’s strongest creature. Then again, this is One Piece. There will be a way for everyone to survive.

There’s been photos of the production floating about in Cape Town, South Africa. They actually built a life-size version of Alvida’s Ship & The Going Merry. They also built a town which looks like to be Logue Town. So at least they’re putting effort into the set pieces. Oda is involved with this, and the writer for the adaptation, Matt Owens, is passionate about the series and is taking it seriously. All we can do is hope that it can all come together.

I realize I’m probably in the minority on this, but I really don’t like this current arc, especially this climax. The incredibly long fights are one thing, but this insistence on turning every character from a bunch of nobodies who became so capable through hard work and creative use of run-of-the-mill abilities into “They’re from an important bloodline, were given the best powers ever, or both” has really soured me on the series as of late. Unfortunately this seems to be inevitable for a lot of shonen. I’ve kind of been just going through the motions reading this arc, but I think I’m just gonna drop it for a while.
