I can’t decide between Pikachu or Eevee.  
(Though if Umbreon was a thing I’d go for Eevee)

Blame how hard Game Freak push it as the mascot. Doesn’t help that it’s inferior to Raichu in just about every way, who doesn’t get nearly as much love.

I don’t get that. You might as well get annoyed about Mickey,Mario,Sonic and any other company mascot showing up everywhere.

Why can’t people? I don’t like a lot of mascot/main characters. Why do some people think it’s impossible or stupid to dislike them?

But Mario and Sonic games are about them, Pichachu is just another pokemon. There’s nothing special about it.

Hey I never said they couldn’t but I still think they’re silly regardless. I could never understand liking a franchise while at the same time hating the lead character’s guts :V

Well somebody already brought up why Pekachu (I like to call it that shut up) is the mascot and why it’s popular. I guess that makes it special.
 
Though I wouldn’t have minded Eevee being a mascot too. But maybe brown was too dull I dunno.

I like Pikachu. Although I used to hate Charizard because of its popularity.

I never said you couldn’t, but even in the series that’s trying to make him the mascot he isn’t a big deal. Honestly, Red is more of a mascot than Pichachu for the Pokemon series.

Still more than a mascot than Pichachu since there’s only one Red.

I think it just took a while to grow on me because Charizard is the most popular of the gen 1 starters, it’s the only one that got two mega evolutions, and other general favoritism.
 
That and my first Pokemon game was Blue and using the other game’s mascot just felt wrong.

Well no early game Suicune for me.
