Poison being weak to bug in gen 1 is just weird to me.

Wasn’t even aware of that for as long as I’ve played the games…That said, I agree.

Y’all have to remember that Poison such as pesticides is what used to kill bugs but ever since then bugs have gain a resistance to poisons and pesticides

Poison was also a Special type in Gen I while it was Physical in Gens II and III… Or was it the other way around?

Poison was definitely physical in Gen 1.

Yep. All the Eeveelution types plus Dragon were the ones that were always special, and the others were always physical. Some type MATCHUPS changed after Gen 1, but no types ever switched from all-physical to all-special or vice versa.

Still wish that ghost was the exception, so that it would be special and dark physical.

IKR? One wonders why they made Gengar special-focused and Sneasel physical-focused if BOTH of their STABs were made pretty much unusable by doing that.

Is sneasel and weavile based off of Egyptians? Is that why sneasel looks female?

And not only that, but even though Ghost was physical from Gens I-III, Shadow Ball ALWAYS had a chance of lowering Special Defense even before the Physical-Special split.

Also, don’t forget how Gust, Karate Chop, and Bite were all Normal-type moves in Gen I, which made sense for Bite at least since the Dark-type didn’t exist yet, but with Gust and Karate Chop it was just weird, which is most likely why they became Flying and Fighting, respectively, from Gen II onward.
