I unironically like the idea for a fanfic and/or fanmade podcast where the Silentium droid race and the Yuuzhan Vong, some time before the events of the New Jedi Academy book series but after the events of BOTW, cross paths again and end up fighting another war against each other across mainly the outer edges of the galaxy. the planet where Hyrule is on ends up becoming a major point of dispute in the new Silentium-Vong War, with both factions doing whatever they can to get control of the planet, thus the entire planet that Link, Zelda, Impa, and the Sheikah call home is caught in the crossfires. Link must gather new weapons, items and learn new techniques in his newest quest. Along the way in his quest to protect Hyrule and his planet, he encounters both Silentium and Yuuzhan Vong who, in their own ways, seek to convince Link to join their respective sides: The Silentium doing so by using both verbal discourse along with offering help in parts of his adventure,such as giving him tips and weapons in exchange for doing tasks to help them in their goal of beating the Vong; The Vong would either try to ambush Link and make him a slave, or at times have one or more of their Shaper caste approach him in order convince him to ally with their empire with promises of being not only allowed to live, but also live under their rule as a shamed one instead of a slave if he is able to get them to decimate the Silentium.

I think that’s an exaggeration, since does point out the good parts (no matter how few there were) in his reviews, and even explains why he hates/dislikes a scene or “joke.”

A critic with evidence. The thing about video reviews is that they show clips and scenes of said media to show what they’re talking about and gives more weight to their claims. Even before that, there’s also a trust factor that matters, like if a friend sees a movie and either recommends it or warns you against it. You’re trusting their word on it to determine if you’ll risk seeing it yourself, like what I’m doing with someone that’s paid to review movies.

Yeah no. Just because a critic says something is bad (even with evidence) doesn’t mean that the work IS bad. Same goes for the inverse, something isn’t good even if a critic says so. What matters is that one tries out the work for themselves and create their own opinions instead of parroting it off of others. You can be influenced by their review and make you think about something in there yes, but don’t treat what they say as objective fact and let them be your opinion. If you think the work is unappealing and don’t want to try it out, then so be it that’s your decision, but just don’t say something is good/bad just because a critic says so, even with mounting evidence.

Yes. I’m just not a fan of critics telling people what they can and can’t do. It’s one thing to agree/disagree with them , which I have no problem with, but it’s another to say “Oh this guy said that this movie is horseshit, that means it IS”. Opinions should be formed on their own and not from the words of somebody else.

So I should watch A Serbian Film instead on taking people’s word that it’s disturbing, or that I should trust EA despite many friends and users here warning about their practices and past actions that they are repeating?
