If I ever did make a game, it would involve a three-tailed kitsune in a Metroidvania style game.

As a guy who owns a horse, it’s a couple of things.
As a guy who owns a horse, it’s a couple of things.
The first thing is that the hobby involves not just riding, but taking care of the animal, which is seen as more feminine.
The second thing is that horses are really expensive, so the hobby is a bit of a status symbol. Women tend to be more social, so the hobby doubles as an opportunity to socialize. For men, it’s a status symbol that they’re less readily able to show off, compared to something like a sports car.
TL:DR, men tend to be turned off by activities that are expensive and feminine.

What’s that? You wanna get banished for treason? Well, why didn’t you say so!?
Oh, this bitch is DEFINITELY a catholic priest.

I’m going to call slight bullshit on men being turned off by expensive hobbies. A lot of masculine hobbies are incredibly expensive and men are very much concerned with “showing off resources” when able.

Leap year is only a thing on the solar calendar, tracking days by solar rotations.
A Lunar Calendar which tracks days by lunar orbits andbm phases, like the Chinese calendar, doesn’t have leap years.

I guess many men want to be seen as rags to riches people and not preppy aristocrat types.

They dont want to be seen as a sophisticated Southern gentleman who goes to the Kentucky Derby or plays polo. They want to be seen as people who grew up in the ghetto and through effort became millionaires.
They want to be seen as a successful average Joe. Example being Elon Musk or Andrew Tate (I have no idea if these guys were actually rags before but their fanbiys would assume so). Or why millionaires dress like average Joes.
Ironically their supposed common shirt or baseball cap would actually be more expensive than a suit or tie.

It’s true that horses are impractical. I get the appeal of riding a horse, but I’d rather have an ATV or offroad motorcycle.

That sounds much like the relationship some men have with their vehicle if they are mechanically inclined.

Most lunar calendars also have a solar component. Every two or three years they add a whole-ass leap month to keep things aligned.

The only major calendar in use that’s strictly lunar is the Islamic calendar. Ramadan starts a few days earlier every (solar) year.

I wish electric bikes had existed when I was a kid. One of those would have been awesome to have before I owned a car. If there was a steep hill or I was feeling lazy, I could just switch to electric power.

Interesting responses, perhaps men abandoned horses and women (due to typically being more empathetic toward animals) took care of them and eventually started riding them.

Black Beauty (novel) appears to be a big influence in making horses appealing to girls.

Electric bikes are awesome, I had one prior to getting my licence, self built 1KW, topped out at 30mph. I now have 2, one is 12KW (60MPH) and the other 2.3KW (40MPH, self built) they’re seriously good fun.

Imagine a world where horses were like fawns. Two legged and had fashion for cultural type of glue holding their livelyhood together. Then humans were four legged and on all fours. Then the horses ride on the backs of humans.
Wouldn’t that be maddening?!!!!!!

I work a janitorial job. I also have been building music equipment. While may not be perfectly self desciplined upon a budget? I find ways to do what I enjoy.
You don’t have to let cost stop you. I repurposed shelves, scrapped parts from broken items, and even found deals on eBay. Its not about going into a hobby head on. Its about looking for ways to make it happen despite the fact.

Flexing as a whole is something you don’t really do excessively if you really have any real pride for yourself. Once or twice sharing a fortune of any kind is good, flexing 24/7 regardless of status however implies either low confidence or obnoxious unwarranted superiority feelings.
