Except that’s not what is going on for the most part . People are being targeted for just being on the right. Like with Sargon . What they got him for is nowhere in their ToS. Patreon is losing a lot of users because of this, and Gab is in the process of making their own payment processing service. And there’s still nothing the left can do about people sending cash or checks to PO boxes.  
Speaking of Gab: Ann Coulter recently tweeted to Trump (whom he follows) about switching to Gab. If that happens millions of conservatives will leave Twitter and it’ll finally become the left wing hug box Jack and the others want.

By just existing we are extremists to them. Nothing right wing can be promoted on their sites because of what TPTB says. We leave. They followed us just to deplatform us again and again and AGAIN. You dont want us around and when we go elsewhere that is unacceptable to your sensibilities. We either stay and keep our mouths shut or we leave and people come and deplatform us. So which is it. Do we have free speech or not because at some point things will boil over for infringing on our right to speak freely.

The reason is old farts in DC passed laws to make sites criminally responsible for any sexual assault charges that may ever come from them hosting any sort of content that advertises sexual encounters. Plainly speaking, if a user on a site hosted in the US posts nudes, even through private messages, and then that poster is sexually assaulted, the site is considered responsible.
 
That means sites hosted in the US with user generated content will make every effort possible to remove all NSFW, to the point that they can claim plausible deniability for a user “abusing” their system for improper means (NSFW), and any NSFW site will remove all user generated content and messaging systems. You’ll likely see a lot of sites move their HQs to Europe, Canada, or other countries. (or, for the “big ones” or ones owned by companies in the US or with heavy US investment, just shit their pants ala Tumblr)
 
 
This all is in accord with conservatives being long opposed to sex workers being legalised (and legally protected) as it’s ~sinful~ and goes against a slew of traditionally “conservative values” (men fucking random women = he’s awesome, women fucking random men = she’s a slut).
 
Combined with big-money companies (of all sorts) fleeing from any sort of controversy, no matter what it is, in fear of losing even a milliard of profits from tight-assed consumers (regardless of leaning), the internet, and particularly the US, is destined to be, well, fucking shite.

GodDAMMIT! Now Stripe has deplatformed subscribestar. And YOU people say that we should make our own platforms and payment processors. I am pissed that when you guys say that and blatantly condone infringing on peoples speech. If you actively approve of deplatforming people you disagree with you are an Enemy to liberty and freedom everywhere since you are no better than all of the dictators that deny free speech to their citizens.

Democrats ran a successful campaign based on defending healthcare. The ACA is now fairly popular, and most of the electorate like it.
 
The obvious republican strategy would be to undercut this possible momentum in two years by preserving the ACA for now, and hit it after the 2020 election to prevent Dems from using it as a weapon to rally behind.

In the far future, like superseded. In the near future, no; nobody’s going to run on or attach their name to any initiative that can be easily accused of fostering sexual promiscuity, assault, “think of the children”, etc. It’s political (and social) suicide.

If the ACA falls, 17 million people (many in traditional conservative strongholds, and essential swing states) would lose healthcare coverage and medicaid.
 
In a climate where the GOP is being thrown off balance in several key states, this is not a fight they should want to have. They’re about to have millions of pissed off people without healthcare placed in pockets in areas they have to hold to survive 2020.
