Probably people that didn’t have a good relationship with sisters (if they had them) or any female friends as a kid and just grew up thinking the opposite sex is exclusively for romance (or fucking) and any interaction with them invariably leads to the need to hard establish if that will happen or not.

There’s still a pretty marked difference between someone that prefers the company of masculine-presenting friends with interests that don’t generally appeal to anyone else and someone that actively wants to use those traits to push back against imagined oppression or openly embraces the “man-o-sphere” brand of toxic masculinity.
Anything can be political if someone is conspiracy-minded enough, but in this case it’s literally just a matter of gauging if someone is insecure enough that they believe their “Man Card” can be revoked at any time if they don’t act monstrous.

With all these Biden-bashing comments over the Israel-Gaza war, I can’t help but be reminded of the criticism that Lyndon Johnson had endured from the Vietnam war. “Hey! Hey! LBJ! How many babies did you kill today?!” was a popular protester chant back in those days, if I remember correctly. And some people wonder why he chose not to run for reelection in 1968…
And we got Nixon out of it (although the Dixiecrats following George Wallace also helped him in that regard). When are we gonna stop repeating the mistakes of the past?

The point of taxation in modern society has always been to fund services that people couldn’t afford on their own (such as roads and waterworks, public safety, and more recently public education and healthcare). Only since the era of the Chicago Boys and reaganomics have neoliberals come and decided that if a public service was not profitable, then it had to be either made so or slashed.
Also, what do you think the point of communism was? Karl Marx literally said: “From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs.”

France has banned Israeli defence industry from Eurosatory 2024 trade show later this month. 74 companies were going to be represented there, ~10 would have exhibited weapons.
No official reason was given, but we all know the reason.
EDIT: Another source quotes the Defence Ministry: “Conditions are no longer met to host Israeli companies at the show at a time when the President is calling for Israel to cease operations in Rafah.”

There existed a network of social security in the middle ages, piece meal as it was because there was no centralized state at the time. But at large the nobility was expected to give alma to the church or poor directly, on top of a complex network of fraternities and guild associations that could lend support to members and families of members in need.
Of course the vast majority of people couldn’t access this care, but not because there was a lack of social welfare in the period. But that a vast majority (about as high as 80% of the population) were peasants who couldn’t afford to leave the farm and had to rely on dispensation through the local parish church. But more so the largest body of the peasantry who were serfs and legally bound to the land they worked.
But besides that, up to the 15th century before Enclosure began, medieval communities also kept and maintained land set aside for the support and benefit of the peasant community

OPEC+ has agreed to extend their production cuts into 2025.
The markets collectively shrugged. Weakening oil demand in the US and China, the US and Canada ramping up oil production, the recent defection of a small oil producing nation from OPEC, the growth of the EV and hybrid market in the US, Europe, and China, and surges in the natural gas industry are all keeping oil prices low.
There’s also some evidence that major market movers are ramping up attempts to sell off oil futures, which would drive down the stock price of major oil producers.
OPEC+ also extended the cuts rather than drive them even lower, as they’ve pretty much hit the market bottom. If they ramp up the cuts anymore, the US and Canada would start to take market share away from them faster than they already are.
If refinery output remains unchanged, or grows, then oil prices will continue to be suppressed.

Brazil’s oil production has already overtaken Venezuela’s (crippled as it is by foreign sanctions and political turmoil). That being said, while I heard that Brazil was about to join OPEC+ at the beginning of this year, I can’t find any source confirming they’re actually part of it (or that they’ve agreed to cap their production, at the very least).

Following allong with capped production would be good for them since it would represent a higher over-all profit for the same amount of work, or less and higher profit yields during that period. The advantage of cartel schemes is it does pool a significant amount of financial resources to buffer members in case someone like Brazil or Colombia were to try to “take on” OPEC by over producing crude to quash them. In this sort of competition it’s not just them vs OPEC, but them against each other and OPEC and throwing the market off threatens the unprotected producers more than the protected (cartelized) producer

I’m not an expert in European immigration policy, but by my limited understanding of the current situation, a lot of it has to do with the “guest worker” programs set up in the wake of WW2 that brought in a large number of Middle Eastern laborers to do cheap work, and didn’t do anything to help them integrate long-term, leading to a mutual resentment and “othering” of communities.

It started in the 80s and 90s. Back then it was seen as beneficial. Integration would come naturally. Since then immigration has only increased and so have the problems caused by it. Refugees from war torn countries are also part of the equation as they seldom integrate well.
