I find it both amusing and depressing seeing how some people make the claim that they’ll flee the US if the worst happens, but forget how far its influence stretches, and how other countries could be under greater pressure from their authoritarian neighbors. If anything, it’s delaying the inevitable.
Hell, I’m already trying to make plans to go back to my home country, with family or not.

“Liberal Americans fleeing US out of fear of Trump” is a comforting thought, yet it never happens because the process is much harder than they realize, US-aligned countries will never willingly take them in, and it’s unlikely their countries’ populace will welcome them with open arms given xenophobia is even stronger there.
Plus, the people most likely to say things like that are those the least likely to be affected by a Trump presidency: rich, wealthy people living in upscale neighborhoods.

I see self-proclaimed “MAGA communist” Jackson Hinkle is still a superstar over there. Wild how he got so big after Elon’s “reforms” to the platform. They’re friendly with each other too, least last I checked in on Mr. Hinkle (which admittedly, was a while ago).

A lot to unpack here, but anyone who’s ever bothered studying US history knows America didn’t become a democracy proper until the late 60s. And it’s been far from “the greatest in the world”.
The GOP has been crazy ever since they nominated Reagan in 1980.
And the election hasn’t even happened yet.

No clue. Though the end of this article states that Trump has plans to implement Stephen Miller’s preferred appointees and staff to reorient enforcement of the Civil Rights Act toward stopping “anti-white racism” in lieu of racism against people of color.
