Right wing grifters are still sucking up to Putin. Charlie Kirk’s tiny face is trying to puff up the 2nd Amendment to justify Russia’s aggression, and Steve Bannon is trying to blame the invasion on the Clintons of all things. And let’s not get into the outright simping from Tucker Carlson and especially Trump.
I was waiting to bring up this point but, remember how all of last year Republicans were outright salivating over the Russian military? How Faux News ran back to back segments glorifying how “anti-woke” their military was and how it epitomized the Conservative dream of “No women allowed”? Well it turns out that Ukraine’s military has some 32,000 women soldiers. Making up about 10-15% of their military, Ukraine has the perhaps the largest women fighting force in the world.
And they’re kicking Putin’s shirtless ass.

If Putin really uses the nuke, something fun will happen, China will be in a dilemma - China government promised a positive security assurance to Ukraine against nuke attack. Surely Russia doesn’t wanna suffer such a huge potential risk to force its only alliance against itself.

Really? Kinda doubt that…I remembered that North Europe has better gender equality, and Sweden’s female soldier comprise more than 20% of the army force.

POW. According to Zelenskyy the west has agreed to cut Russia off from SWIFT, which is a huge financial blow (though I wonder how this will affect those in Russia who are trying to raise funds to leave). And Turkey has cut off access to the Black Sea for Russia by closing their straits to them.

Reports are coming in that Ukrainians are switching road signs to confuse and redirect Russian convoys.
Now, on the one hand, this is a valid tactic that countries have employed all throughout history against invaders. This is doubly effective considering rumors that Russia is so poorly supplied that Ukraine might just need to last 10 days before Russian logistics run out.
On the other hand, the image of Ukraine Gigachads are kicking ass so hard they’re now resorting to trolling Russia with Bugs Bunny antics for lols is a beautiful one.

Someone more knowledgeable than me will need to clarify, but nuclear reactors going boom are a myth. It is literally impossible for a nuclear blast to happen; bombs require an extremely precise focusing lens to split an atom. Reactors just enrich uranium and use steam or something created to create energy.
The worst that can happen is if a stray tank round or missile damages a reactor’s shielding to cause radiation leakage. Bad, but not “There was a city here. It’s gone now.” bad.

The short version is Ukraine provides a significant geographical concern for Russia, Ukraine’s discovery of untapped oil threatens Russia’s economy, NATO, etc all provide a multi-layered reason for the invasion.
All the more reason Russia needs to lose.

Your description of nuclear reactor destruction is correct. Yes, they can explode, but more in a too much heat and pressure sort of way, and not in a nuclear bomb way. In terms of radiation output from such an event, I believe it’s double that of a coal explosion in practical terms.
