That might be part of it. Putin is ex-KGB, so I’m sure this already gave him an anti NATO point of view. Add on to that the expansion of NATO would help explain how he personally feels. Of course even if you feel that NATO and US policy post Soviet Union was harmful to Russian relations it doesn’t excuse him invading Ukraine, it just helps shed some light as to why.

Looks like Dictator Putin is getting butthurt after realizing sanctions are doing big damage to his “Sanction Proof” country, and calling the West “the Empire of Lies.”

LOL, him stay mad, it’s his own fault that he got the World going against him for starting a war with Ukraine.

The Fairness Doctrine was an FCC mandate that basically amounts to news networks needing to provide equal coverage and perspective to “Both sides” of an issue. As the others point out, this includes situations where one side is still clearly in the wrong.

It was repealed back in the 80s, but several of the older networks still operate under its paradigm. Incidentally Fox News was created not long after it was gone.

Ukraine is now in talks to join the European Union after talks with Russia went nowhere.

I’m not sure it’s physically possible to count all the ways this last week has backfired on Putin.

Russia is a paper tiger with one real fang, its nukes. But there are scores of Russian oligarchs, generals, and political leaders that prefer living rather than dying in atomic fire. I’m decently sure that if Putin tried to launch nukes he’d accidentally commit suicide with 30 bullets to the back of his head and falling out a 4 story building.

European diplomats are now verifying that Ukraine’s casualty reports are accurate. That’s 4500 dead Russian soldiers in only 4 days. That’s more or less the number of US casualties in the entirety of the Iraq war in only half a week.

Putin spent 30 years cultivating a strong man image. Spent 15 or so making the rest of world develop international strategies over worries of ‘How would Russia respond?’ And it took only one week to undo it all.

Further contrast, Russia and its “allies” only lost around 7k troops during the second Chechen War, a war that lasted 9 months and some change.

Russia has already lost over half that in 4 days.

“There will be a harsh response to the EU actions. Russia will continue to ensure the achievement of vital national interests irrespective of the sanctions or their threat. It is time Western nations realized that their complete dominance in the global economy is long gone,” the ministry said.

“EU citizens and entities involved in the delivery of lethal weapons, fuel and lubricants to Ukraine will bear responsibility for any consequences of such actions to manifest themselves during the ongoing special military operation. They cannot fail to understand how dangerous these consequences are.”

Puta knows he losing so he’s getting desperate. But I guarantee you if he gives the order to drop a nuke, he’s done. He’ll get forcefully removed from power. The only Russians who would support the likelihood of their country becoming a radioactive crater over his personal war would be Puta’s true ass lickers.

And as I thought, the aircraft the EU would send to the Ukraine will be MiG-29’s and Su-25’s that a few NATO countries (namely Poland) have but are in storage or will be replaced by newer aircraft.

Except they’re not trapped.

The Montreux Convention dictates that in times of war, Turkey can restrict the movement of bilgerants from crossing the strait only toward foreign ports. Meaning the Russian warships are free to wander on back home to Russia. They’re just barred from sending warships through to go attack Ukraine, and consequently Ukraine would be barred from retaliating navaly (if they actually had the capacity to do so). Turkey is following an internationally recognized convention, and it would be to Russia’s ruin to challenge that.

Violating the convention would be an act of war on NATO.
