It suggests that we actually might be hitting peak significantly faster than we first anticipated. The data was so surprising that some prominent climate scientists believe we may actually avoid the worst of the effects.

It’s hard to say how things would turn out this far out.

Trump is stuck in courts and draining the Republican campaign funds dry. There’s basically no money in the national war chest to divvy up for races across the country; every Republican candidate only has their own funds raised for their specific races.

At this point the entirety of the GOP is relying on Trump’s name recognition to carry every race for them. Which would be a death sentence, particularly as the Dems are raking in the campaign funds, but Trump is in a fairly unique position of being a celebrity/former president/cult leader.

Kristi Noem is the governor of South Dakota, but otherwise not a particularly notable Republican.

Which changed when she released a book the other day where she admits to killing her puppy and goat for being too much effort to train instead of, you know, finding a family who could provide them with a forever home.

There’s been a bipartisan backlash at not only that but her doubling down on the act, so BP is wondering if she would be able albatross on Trump’s neck should he pick her as his VP.

The answer to which is a firm “maybe”. She’s toxic right now, and Trump picking her would not be a good look. But we’ve seen time and again that nothing sticks to Teflon Don, so who’s to say.

I’ve watched enough PBS NewsHour to know that voting doesn’t cause change. Voting is the absolute bare minimum of participating in a democracy and improving society. Working with your community to organize programs to improve your local area is what brings meaningful change.

I’m not saying “don’t vote”.

I’m saying that grassroots programs and organization are much more proactive ways to improving society than just voting every 2-4 years.

Because we have this thing, called a rule, where we ask people to not use anonymous posting for the purposes of trying to appear to be multiple people within the same conversation.
