I actually once owned dozens of toys decades old even some of the good ol’ nostalgic ones of the 90s
 
Few of it still exists up my storage today ready to get donated someday.

You actually inspired me to check out my local thrift stores yesterday, but unfortunately they were all closed because apparently Michiganders have a low tolerance for cold weather, even though it was a beautiful sunny day.

That sucks friend, but I doubt they’re gonna be closed forever though. _{(Also there’s a massive garage sale somewhere in my city that might have MLP but there’s no address listed so I gotta wait for their email.)}

AAA I was outbid on a figurine and I didn’t check until it was over so I’ll have to spend more time looking for one that’s decently priced!!

Ah, well you win some and you lose some. It’s better not to overpay for something that you can probably find somewhere else for less if you’re patient enough.
 
Yesterday I hit up two flea markets, a resale shop and a thrift store before starting my shift. There was nothing at the thrift store. One of the shops at the first flea market had a G3 Dancing Slippers last time I was in there that I meant to grab, but she’s gone now. Half the shops in the other flea market were closed, and I couldn’t find any MLP in the other ones. The resale shop had the remnants of a G3 Mermaid Playset but of course all the accessories were lost. I did find a mini Fluttershy Happy Meal toy though for my troubles. Got it for a quarter.

Congratulations on your Fluttershy find! It sucks about the other two though, at least you know MLP is somewhat common in your area.
 
The garage sales and second hand shops I’ve been to haven’t been successful besides the pony that started it all, a McDonald’s G3 pony called Spring Treat who I got for 0.50¢

Yes. This was the first I saw them and was curious how they were like. Quite nice, and I got lucky with no flaws.

Ah, okay. Do you plan on keeping the packaging? I know with G1 it might have more value if you wanna resell it later

I’d had huge storage issues with keeping way too many empty boxes before, so I don’t usually keep boxes of toys anymore unless they’re rare/expensive, older, really special to me, or really cool looking. Sometimes I’ll keep a flat box or backcard more often than anything else tho. Or if I keep them in the box, which I don’t have a ton of things like that, because space and I like to enjoy what I have and not just stare at it.

Eh, not really, I only get toys of characters I know about :p, though I do have preferences(if it has Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Soundwave or Rainbow Dash I’m bound to pick it up)

Ah, I can understand that. I keep the boxes some of my anime figurines come in, I flatten those I can and those with plastic inserts/extra pieces I keep as is!
 
I do this because I hope to one day collect every single piece of merch of my Husband, have it all on display in my home and have the world record for most merch of a anime character (might already be beat to that) the boxes to verify they’re authentic, plus once I pass I want them to be on display in an Anime museum with their boxes or in a passionate collector’s hand.

I can relate, for G4 MLP I only collect Derpy, Luna and Cadence.
 
Outside of MlP, I collect Sanji (One Piece), Monster High (Double packs, early ones or Draculaura, Clawdeen, Catty Noir and Catrine De Mew) Maki Harukawa (DRV3) Kazuichi Souda (SDR:2) Black Lady/Chibiusa (Sailor Moon) Umbreon, Mew, Manaphy, Shaymin plus others (Pokemon) and Pusheen!

I currently have the LEGO Star Wars Speeder Bike buildable figure that I won from BZPower sitting on my desk. It’s a lot bigger than I anticipated and I have no idea where I can put it that isn’t going to get it constantly elbowed… :v

I’d get this if I wasn’t so expensive…
