I only watched three Harry Potter films. The first one, the second one and the fourth one. After that, I dropped the series back in 2005.

With every movie, there are new characters, new weird names you have to memorize, new magical spells with weird names you have to memorize, cloudy stakes (even though the main threats were Boldemort, some of the Malfoy members and the goth teacher) and, speaking of it, I think it’s a law of nature that any franchise with so many movies ends up either flanderizing someone or retcon something.

And considering that some reviews I’ve read about those CGI prequels were harsh on the films, I think I did good on dropping Harry Potter. I no longer have interest in magic after all.

Seriously, you’re just wrong. The movies didn’t retcon anything or flanderize characters, I don’t even know where you get “new characters every movie” from. The fantastic beasts movies had some retcons and inconsistencies but the main movies don’t have any really.

It’s a fantasy world bruh why is that big deal lol

Ohh yeah in the end part. To be fair the movies skipped a lot of stuff. Like the fight at the end of Half Blood Prince.

I think the only thing that I was interested in Harry Potter was the Quidich sport. But nowadays the most enjoyable part of Harry Potter to me is the Leviosah parody.

The good thing about Harry Potter is that, while I wasn’t interested in the franchise, I wouldn’t say it was lazy. It could have been a lot worse. It could have been an Illumination film.

I would have loved Harry Potter if:

-Instead of 8 movies, there were either 2 or 3 films. Less is more.
-The fantasy was dark, showing a self-dectructive use of magic, kinda like Dark Souls.

Can’t really adapt 7 books into 2 or 3 movies. 7 long books at that.
