Yeah, I tried to eliminate that as best as possible by removing “color” and “colored” from the list, as well as cosplay pictures where I guess photographer or model was tagged but not both.

I agree with you on this one. They often co-occur for understandable reasons, but I think that at the very least twiface is just the expression.
 
I have no idea what wrong neighbourhood should be used for, though. Your suggestion makes sense, but I know I’m not gonna retag everything and think up descriptions.

What’s the tag for letters? as in, text but not like, big text?

I set tag descriptions on crush (the romantic variety) and crushing (macro/micro/painful/death/etc).  
If someone wants to go ahead and retag the pictures where necessary, that’d be great. Or suggest better words for the description, that’s fine, too.

“Animated” versus “animation” could use some clarification. As far as I can see, “animated” is used exclusively for images that are animated on Derpibooru, but “animation” is a mix of that and screenshots/frames from animations hosted elsewhere. Should “animation” be redefined to be screenshots from animations specifically, or should it just be aliased?

“animation” should be be merged into the animated and animation at source tags IMHO.
 
We already have the excellent animated at source tag for stills that link to an animation that can not be uploaded on the ’Booru, like a YouTube video or an SWF file.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn’t know about “animated at source” before now. I’ll get to work on replacing “animation” with whichever is appropriate for each image, then.

Huh! That’s awkward. I don’t quite know what to do. Maybe just have it tagged as “animated” and explain in the description?
 
Also, I’ve finished removing “animation” from non-animated images, so it could probably be merged into “animated” now.

Tag “this will end in tears and/or death still doesn’t work, at least for me. 404 error every time I try to open it from an image that has this tag.

what’s gender bending now? as in the transformation, rather than rule 63 which is aliased with gender bending now
 
or just search rule 63+transformation?

is there a tag for anthro with hands and feet as opposed to anthro with hooves on both ends?

That would be “anthro”.  
There’s a tag for hooves instead of hands – not to be confused with the very similar ““semi-anthro[](/tags/semi-dash-anthro) – but I don’t think there’s any specific tags for anthro with either feet or hooves.

i’d much appreciate it if it wasn’t.  
if you’d take a look at the ‘banner’ search results, there’s hanging banners, eqd banners, fimfiction banners, old banners, etc  
for simplicity’s sake, a search for any certain one of these would require more tags, not less. much less merging them all into one

What is the qualification for old banner tag? is there one?  
Is there a meaning for “old” that I’m missing here perhaps?
 
I’m not sure if I understand Anon’s point, but there are currently less then 400 pics tagged with banner - not too difficult to find a pic in just that many and unlikely to change in the near future so it doesn’t seem like we need to consider splitting into sub-tags there.

I’m not against differentiating different types of banners like rectangular banners, er, mouthpiece banners…wish I had some proper names for those two. I just didn’t know if “old banner” for the latter is an accepted term.
 
If it is, I see no reason to remove it, but then the “banner” tag in general should be cleaned up and divided into web banners, these other type of banners and banners as objects appearing within pics.
