“I assume there more than a few ponies on Derpibooru who are not really into clop / are interested in it remaining a predominantly SFW site?”
That’s me.
I realize the popular filters thing is derped and will be replaced. But what I would suggest is that the All Images filter be something that you go to the filters page to turn on. (or add as a menu item on the main page) same as other major art sites… at least for non-logged-in users.
i.e. the filters button could appear as a button titled Content Filters for anons, click on it, you get the filters page, but it has a clickthrough link to turn on the All Images menu item in the top bar.
(on the filters page – above the existing description of the All Images Filter one could put a radio button that says “Display All Images Filter in menu bar – includes NSFW content – clicking on this or the existing “use this filter” link would have the same effect)
(of both adding All Images to the top menu bar and switching to it)
I assume there more than a few ponies on Derpibooru who are not really into clop / are interested in it remaining a predominantly SFW site? As it has been, with filters, not censorship… I always figure that the admin staff presumably includes some ponies who are not all that into clop that care about ensuring that a casual viewing of derpibooru explicit content is more than one accidental click away… If this were not the big, all inclusive, default pony image site, caring about the site policy of just another pony board would not be an issue… but it’s not a legal thing (unless it runs you afoul of the UK’s new draconian kid-friendly internet law) but I do think there’s an issue of respecting everypony in the fandom and projecting a positive vibe… This site does not banish explicit content but that does not mean that the new filters system should actively highlight it, either.
I ask because I’d love to upload some art of my own to derpibooru but… if it’s not a site that maintains a distinction (at the functionality level) between explicit and non-explicit content then I’ll have to find somewhere else to host it so I can send people links to it without them assuming that it’s related to whatever explicit content that’s a click away on the same page.
I have no problem with the Default filters, btw. In fact my problem is precisely that bronibooru doesn’t provide a true SFW alternative because they go wayyy too far in the opposite direction.
Peace ~

Hi Clover! Have you made a decision on an “e for everyone” kind of global? I know you’re making a search function, but there wont be one in the mean time, without a new global filter.
Anons no longer see the dropdown menu on every page but instead can go to the filters page to switch - there’s a nice big notice there about NSFW content.
As the stats seem to show that a strong majority of users prefer seeing all the clop and gore content, I believe a simple warning next to the “all image” filter would do the job. Maybe put it last in the list so new users don’t click it by mistake.Just speaking out for the anons and lurkers who might not enjoy posting or might not even have an account. If it’s not too much trouble, please bring back the dropdown menu for us. Also, good work on this and other features, and overall listening to the community.
Will episode spoilers be added to users’ Legacy Filters when the time comes or do they have to add them themselves?
