So! Any headcanons you have that have been killed by recent episodes? And no, the comics don’t count
 
I’ll start: I used to have the headcanon that alicorns can’t have foals.

Starlight is not Cadance’s daughter from the future she’s her granddaughter.

A big one I had was that Celestia actually lied about her power. That was pretty much killed with the season 4 premiere.

~In between The Cutie Map and Castle Sweet Castle, Spike secretly destroyed the mirror portal because he was getting sick and tired of being turned into a dog every time he enters our world (I came up with this as a reason for why we haven’t seen the mirror in the show as of late.).
 
~The Griffon Kingdom is a powerful society that has never collapsed.
 
~Vinyl Scratch is a loudmouth who gets on Octavia’s nerves.

I actually like all of those you listed, though technically the one about Vinyl can still be true. Ever seen the series Deep Space Nine? There’s a character in that show called Morn who is said by all the characters to be super talkative, even though we never actually hear him say anything on the show. We could possibly apply that to Vinyl, too.

Well, I think another question is, why has it taken this long to show one of them? They should stop being lazy bums and do their fucking jobs! >:(

Small, maybe, but what about when it’s attacked by monsters or crazed villains or whatever? Surely there should be some form of law enforcement then? I mean I know Magic Duel probably would’ve been a lot shorter if Trixie had simply been hoofcuffed, had her magic suppressed, and put in jail right on the spot.

I think the reason is that FiM took place in medieval fantasy times. Even trains were pulled by ponies. After they changed it to cyberpunk or something, real cops are possible now without looking stupid.  
I’m still waiting for first cars to happen on screen….

Well, by season 2 we had normal trains. Maybe those guys were just trying to get an exercise?

Umm…are you sure you’ve been watching the right show? Because I’m pretty sure that FIM does not take place in a medieval setting.
 
How do I know this? Well, for one thing, trains didn’t exist in the Middle Ages and neither did railroads.

But you’re sort of making a mistake. You’re comparing their Middle Age era with ours.
 
Yes, it’s not exactly a “medieval setting”, but it has all sorts of medieval elements that are still there.
 
Their actual “Middle Age” era might have happened a long time ago, though.
 
That said, I personally dislike when they put advanced technological stuff like ours just for the sake of it, it reeks of laziness from the writers and storyboarders.
 
The arcade cabs powered by solar energy were hilarious, though.

Side-note: there’s no way in hell only a year has passed since the beginning of the show. Fuck that.

Especially since the episode and scene people use as evidence for that never actually said that it had only been one year. One could argue that there is some other evidence in favor of that, but the overwhelming evidence against it renders that moot.

Exactly. So we can add that as another nuked headcanon. Not that I ever took it seriously as a headcanon to begin with.
